Minimum Qualifications :

Job purpose
Performs technical and professional support for computer systems, applications, servers, data storage and virtual computing environments. Duties and responsibilities
- Builds, tests and maintains physical and virtual servers, hardware configuration, peripherals, services, directories, backups and data storage in accordance with industry standards, operational documentation requirements and business continuity plans.
- Performs server administration tasks such as, but not limited to, documentation, inventory of physical and virtual systems, health checkups, license management, application compatibility, automation, hardening, logging, monitoring, reporting, technology life cycle and root cause analysis.

Xometry is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to join our Information Technology team. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in JAMF, as this is a must-have for the role. This person will play a key role in managing endpoint systems, supporting a SaaS-first environment, and automating IT processes.
They will also contribute to infrastructure administration, onboarding flows, application access management, and serve as an escalation point for the helpdesk team. Additional experience with Intune, Okta, Google Workspace, and Meraki networks is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with members of the IT team on day-to-day infrastructure administration, projects, migrations, new technology deployments, and process improvements
- Contribute to managing Okta, including troubleshooting issues and configuring new applications, policies, and features
- Lead the administration and management of endpoint systems via MDM (JAMF and Intune) including zero-touch configuration, vulnerability/patch management, and policy changes
- Ensure the IT onboarding and offboarding automation process runs smoothly while improving and adding functionality
- Manage application access for a comprehensive SaaS stack including Atlassian, Adobe Cloud, Zoom, Github, Slack, and others (We embrace a SaaS-first approach)
- Monitor and support our Meraki corporate network across multiple locations
- Identify opportunities for automation (Automate all the things!)
- Create and maintain internal technical documentation and runbooks, while also creating user-facing knowledge base documents
- Serve as an escalation point and offer mentorship to colleagues on the IT Helpdesk
- There will be times when this role is required to occasionally support go-lives or maintenance that occurs off-hours and on weekends
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in System Administration or Engineering
- Hands-on expertise with JAMF and Intune for endpoint management
- Proficient in Okta administration and configuration
- Experience managing Google Workspace Enterprise and performing common administrative tasks
- Strong understanding of networking concepts (DHCP, DNS, VLANs, subnets) and best practices
- Knowledge of IT process automation, including APIs, webhooks, workflows, and triggers
- Ability to research and analyze IT problems, issues, and project requirements effectively
- Experience with bulk user migrations, acquisitions, and ZScaler (not required, but a plus).

BROAD FUNCTION
The Senior Systems Administrator works within the ITS Department, and reports to the Assistant Director of Enterprise Infrastructure. This position provides quality service and responsive end-user support, to college employees and students, related to IT enterprise infrastructure, including administration of servers, Active Directory/Entra, cloud infrastructure platforms and application suites, security, virtualization platform system, network services, data storage, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery. This position is part of a service team working in collaboration with the ITS infrastructure team and front-line support teams and is responsible for ensuring a highly reliable, available, and secure technology environment that supports academic, administrative, and student computing for the College.
This is an in-person position located on our campus in Syracuse, NY. The person in this role may be on-call and may be required to remote in or provide on campus technical support outside of standard business hours.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Planning, testing, implementing, monitoring, and maintenance of the following, across the enterprise:
- Servers (Windows & Linux).
- Directory services, managing accounts.
- Microsoft Office enterprise productivity suite and MDM.
- Security and vulnerability management.
- Infrastructure services, such as DNS, DHCP, NTP.
- Cloud infrastructure platforms and services.
- Virtualization platform, including hosts, vSAN, vNetwork, and VM's.
- Data storage in SAN environment.
- Backup and restoration of servers and systems, and disaster recovery.
- Authentication, SSO, encryption, certificate management.
- Document configurations and manage change processes.

Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university or foreign equivalency and at least 5 years of hands-on technical expertise in the areas stated in this position guide. OR
- Associate degree from a regionally accredited college or university or foreign equivalency and at least 9 years of hands-on technical expertise in the areas stated in this position guide.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
