**Required Skills and Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction related field, or equivalent construction related work experience, as well as 8+ years of experience in field construction is required
+ Requires a comprehensive knowledge of engineering and construction-related processes, as well as industry practices
+ Requires excellent written and oral communication skills, a familiarity with PC software packages typically associated with engineering and construction, and the proven ability for performing in a lead capacity on a project
**Preferred Skills and Qualifications:**

Job Summary

Fishbeck is seeking a Construction Engineer to work in our Civil Field Department. The primary duty of this position is to assist senior engineering staff in the administration and oversight of construction projects for the Ohio Department of Transportation, Local Agency, and municipal clients. This position requires self-motivation, commitment to high-quality work performance, excellent planning and communication skills, and ability to assist staff in a project team environment. Applicant must be willing to travel and work in an outdoor environment.

Primary Functions
  • Assist with project administration, construction oversight, and coordination for construction projects of varying size and scope, including but not limited to highway and bridge rehabilitation and reconstruction projects.
  • Verify the contractor's completed work complies with the contract documents for assigned projects.

Our Construction Management team is actively seeking a Construction Engineer for work on various infrastructure projects in greater San Diego.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinating and working with inspectors for field reviews, data collection and analysis, studies and forecasting.
  • Collect and manage data for engineering or construction work such as to perform quantity take-offs for development of engineering estimate.
  • Prepare project data for schedules, assist in preparing schedules and budgets in order to monitor progress reports.
  • Assist in change orders negotiations with contractors.
  • Review contractor invoicing to verify quantities and enter contractor invoices into Client's online system.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
  • Previous infrastructure construction experience with CALTRANS or similar agency preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
