be a key contributor to the team while driving the technical design, implementation, and improvement of services.

Responsibilities:

- This role involves a range of responsibilities related to software development and management within the Content Metadata domain.

- Design well-architected solutions and deliver on them with code that is easy to develop and maintain

- Lead technical design and implementation of new features

- Participate in project phasing and delivery together with your manager, team lead and Technical Project Managers

- Identify areas of improvement in our systems and workflows

- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers

- Take a user-centric approach to improving our content management systems and data flows

- Write defensive and robust tests

- Experience with Graph databases (Neo4j), Terraform and GraphQL is a big plus
- 5 plus years of software development experience

- Proficiency in (in order of importance): Java & Python

- Relational databases (MySQL, Postgres), and NoSQL databases (DynamoDB)

- Event or pub/sub driven architecture (Ka a, Kinesis)

- Solid understanding of AWS (Lambda, Kinesis, SQS/SNS, DynamoDB, etc.)

- Deep understanding of core CS fundamentals, OOP principles, data structures, and algorithms

• Builds the tools and platforms that fellow developers will use to evaluate and select open source packages on which to build and use as dependencies; consume open source and incorporate into projects; and contribute patches and features back to the open source projects we use at the firm.

• Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
• Leads the development of our reporting, analytics, open source metadata, and outbound contribution tools.
• Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems

• Formal training or certification on software and/or engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
• Advanced in one or more programming language: Strong Python and/or Java a must; preferably both
• Demonstrated proficiency in open source concepts and associated practices, both given we will use an "open source first" approach towards building the tools and platforms in Open Source Governance, but also because the products we build are to help our developers use and contribute to open source.
• Advanced knowledge of git, and associated platforms like GitHub, inside and out.
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Experience in data engineering concepts as we are processing various datasets in order to develop insights and make decisions about the open source we use and to which we contribute
