We are hiring a Carbon Capture Senior Consultant to join our dynamic and diverse team and be central to our growth strategy.
Advisians Carbon Capture business is growing rapidly. We are hiring a Carbon Capture subject matter expert to meet this demand and expand our market. The successful candidate will make significant contributions to our bottom line by increasing our win rates, strengthening our offerings, improving our work product, and contributing to growth into new markets. The ideal candidate will also have experience in other areas of decarbonization such as reforming and blue Carbon Capture ammonia.
The Low-Carbon Team focuses on two inter-related offerings and we are organized along these lines, although we share work and resources across the teams as needed:
- Low-Carbon Technology Team focused on the specific application and analysis of the implementation of low-carbon technologies that enable the product of low-carbon fuels and carbon reduction, including:
- Carbon capture
- Low carbon-intensity hydrogen and related products: e.g. ammonia and methanol.
- Chemical recycling
- Plastics recycling
- Biomass conversion
- Low-Carbon Strategy Team: Focused on carbon reduction roadmaps, application of carbon-reduction incentives, and product Life Cycle Analysis (LCA).
Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical lead for Carbon Capture-related studies. This will include studies that require feasibility studies, business case development, configuration, technology selection, performance estimates, cost estimating, and technical due diligence.
- Providing input and details on scope, execution, and schedule for Carbon Capture Study Proposals. This will include leading and supporting written proposals.
- Support of Carbon Capture sales opportunities; demonstrating expertise while explaining options.
- Active role in marketing and business development for Carbon Capture.
- Participation in growth strategy development in the Carbon Capture Market.
- Training other consultants to execute Carbon Capture projects.
- Serve as a specialist for Carbon Capture across Advisian and the Worley.
Preferred Qualifications/Requirements
- Chemical Engineering degree or equivalent
- 15+ years of relevant process engineering and/or operations experience
- 10+ years of relevant experience with Carbon Capture including:
- integration with supporting unit operations (compression, storage)
- Utilities (water, power, etc).
- Yield, OpEx and CapEx estimation.
- Familiarity with the commercial and leading-edge Carbon Capture technologies and the trade-offs of each.
- Familiarity with the trade-offs and options for CC application to flue gases, refining off-gases (e.g., FCC), direct air capture, etc.
- Process modelling knowledge using Aspen/HYSYS, PROII.
- Experience with PetroSim, PetroPlan UniSim, and HTRI.
- Experience with the following is a significant bonus:
- Reforming (ATR and SMR)
- Blue-Hydrogen / Ammonia
- Green Hydrogen
- eMethanol

We're keeping the Navy cool. Literally. Our team at the Grantley Plant custom designs, develops and manufactures complex chilled water HVAC and refrigeration equipment for Navy vessels around the world. The job consists of performing duties required to plan, lay out, fabricate, assemble, fit, braze tubing, thread, weld complex piping, system components and weld coded, and noncoded pressure vessel assemblies and subassemblies, working with ferrous, nonferrous metals, using conventional or automatic submerged arc welding and difficult positions of stick, tig, and manual arc welding of Navy equipment.
Location: Grantley Plant in York, PA
Shift: 2nd shift (3:00pm - 11:30pm)
Pay: $29.36 (plus .70 for shift differential)
Union: This is a bargaining unit (union) position.

How you will do it
- Working with isometric drawings, digital 3-D models, operational method sheets, welding symbols, and code specifications.
- Work on floor, guarded platform, ladders or at welding table.
- Perform floor erection or fixture assembly of pressure vessels and subassemblies.
- Weld in all positions.
- Lay out from center lines or create own layouts as required to locate and fabricate all internal, external part details, angular, radial, longitudinal relationships.
- Preparing material for welding by cleaning, bead blasting, and or grinding.
- Weld parts per drawing details; including internal and external components, such as heads, lugs, brackets, baffles, piping, valves, fittings, oil coolers, water boxes, covers, make all connections.
- Clean and dress welds to Navy Welding Standards.
- Perform carbon arc or plasma arc gouging.
- Repair welding on defective materials and parts.
- Maintaining a clean and safe working area.
What we look for
Required:
- Applicant must pass a Navy Military Code Standard 2" diameter pipe test with a backing ring in the 6G position using E7018 filler material in order to be hired.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Minimum of (3) or more years welding experience; using SMAW, FCAW, and GTAW in all positions
- Ability to use a tape measure, levels, laser levels, combination square set, fixtures, hand tools, pneumatic air tools, guarded platforms, ladders, and any other appropriate welding and material handling equipment.
- Ability to use basic mathematics, work from prints, sketches, written/verbal instruction, and operational method sheets.
- Ability to perform continuous physical work including moving heavy weight materials, handling chain falls, structural shapes, and work in strenuous positions.
- Ability to work safely at all times. Constant care is necessary to prevent injury.
- U.S. citizen.
Preferred:
- Technical or Vocational Welding Schooling, or equivalent welding experience.
- Experience welding while adhering to code standards.
- Rigging and overhead crane operation experience.

Our team at the Grantley Plant custom design, develops, manufactures, ships, installs, and maintains industrial HVAC equipment for Navy vessels of all sizes. This job consists of duties required to operate a CNC controlled horizontal machining center with a rotary table and 14 feet of travel. Operation includes handling machine equipped with 100 position automatic tool change system, PC based tool management/preset system, part probe, broken tool detection, adaptive control and horsepower monitor and is DNC linked.
Location: Grantley Plant in York, PA
Shift: 1st Shift and/or 2nd Shift, Monday-Friday
Pay: Entry level Machine Operators starts at $27.31/ per hour. CNC Machine Operators starts at $9.49 - 30.12/ per hour. Qualified "Journeyman" starts at 31.95/ per hour.

How You Will Do It:
- Use tool preset machine, precision measuring instruments, hand and hand power tools, deburr tools and appropriate material handling equipment.
- Work from drawings, process sheets, specifications, tape program, instructions, or visual display units.
- Perform fixture change-overs, loading and unloading of production parts, on-line piece parts inspection and manual data input to insure specified finishes, tolerances.
- Maintain tooling and backup tooling (where necessary).
- Monitor control messages and take appropriate corrective action.
- Perform utility functions to maintain process.
- Will perform housekeeping and deburr internal to machining operations.
- Fills out PM check lists and may assist in the PM of the machine.

Qualifications

- Ability to read shop prints, mathematics, handbook formulas, precision measuring instrument, process sheets, program tapes.
- Knowledge of N/C controlled machines and shop practices equivalent to 1 to 2 years trades training.
- Judgment required to plan, perform, make general decisions within prescribed quality, tolerance, limitations.
- Ability to perform moderate physical effort working continuously with light weight or frequently with average weight materials.
