**As a** **Heavy Equipment Test Mechanic** with John Deere in Dubuque, IA, you will:
Set up, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and operate hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical equipment to conduct laboratory and field tests of agricultural implements and components as part of the product development process.
Job details are dependent on duties assigned but in general consist of the following:
+ Effectively work with engineers and customers in planning, developing, implementing, and executing field or lab testing of equipment.
+ Diagnose issues and make necessary repairs and adjustments as required to complete test.
+ Fabricate parts by cutting, bending, machining, assembling, and welding as needed.
+ Record findings and create written reports to document test conditions, performance, quality, and work performed.
+ Disassemble units after tests and check for misalignment and wear.
+ Lubricate, adds coolant, and clean equipment.
+ Assist and support other team members and work with minimal supervision.
+ Clean work area and perform other miscellaneous duties inherent to the job.
+ Work shifts (choice of shift based on seniority).
+ May also perform duties such as:
+ Prepare and load equipment for movement to test site.
+ Make personal contacts with dealers and branch personnel to finalize arrangements for tests.
+ Perform setup on machine for test, including assembly, adjusting, fueling and lubrication.
+ Operate equipment under field test conditions.
+ Install and/or operate instrumentation for tests.
**Minimum Qualifications:**
+ Must be at least 18 years of age.
+ Must have at least one of the following:
+ High School Diploma or G.E.D.
+ National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC)
+ At least 3 years of manufacturing work experience
+ Mechanical journeyperson's card or at least 4 years of heavy equipment diesel mechanic work experience (or equivalent Military experience / training).
+ Ability to perform manual tasks related to described job duties for duration of work shift, including but not limited to frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
+ Ability and willingness to work any shift and potential overtime (including weekends).

As a ** ** **Tool & Die Maker** ** ** with John Deere in Dubuque, IA, you will:
Plan, lay out, and construct a variety of intricate, highly specialized tools, fixtures, jigs, dies, and gauges requiring high quality workmanship, holding extremely close tolerances.  Work will be performed in a production environment focused on safety, quality, and teamwork.
Job details are dependent on duties assigned but in general consist of the following:
+ Support preventative and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime.
+ Work from tool and product design prints, sketches, or verbal instructions and plan proper sequence of operation to carry job to completion.
+ Perform lay out work which requires use of advanced mathematical procedures.
+ Make own setups and devise special attachments for performance of job.
+ Check and adjust inspection equipment using master gauge blocks.
+ Repair tools, fixtures, jigs, dies, or gauges.
+ Use standard toolmaker's tools, precision measuring instruments, gauge blocks, calipers, protractors, indicators, micrometers, and other various hand and power tools.
+ Assist and support other team members and work with minimal supervision.
+ Clean work area and perform other miscellaneous duties inherent to the job.
+ Work shifts (choice of shift based on seniority).
**Minimum Qualifications: **
+ Must be at least 18 years of age.
+ Must have at least one of the following:
+ High School Diploma or G.E.D.
+ National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC)
+ At least 3 years of manufacturing work experience
+ Journeyperson's card in Tool & Die Making or at least 4 years of Tool & Die Making experience (or equivalent Military experience and training).
+ Experience laying out and fabricating parts.
+ Experience utilizing precision measuring equipment.
+ Ability to perform manual tasks related to described job duties for duration of work shift; including but not limited to frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
+ Ability and willingness to work potential overtime (including weekends).

**Primary Location:** United States (US) - Iowa - Waterloo
As a **Pattern Maker** with John Deere Waterloo Foundry, you will:
Lay out, construct, finish, check, modify and maintain complex wood, metal, plaster and/or plastic patterns, models, and related pattern equipment. This includes core boxes and fixtures which have angles and relationships between holes and sections difficult to hold and which require considerable hand work due to the number of projections or angles.
Job details are dependent on duties assigned but in general consist of the following:
+ Make preliminary study of prints and make layout, sketches, and templates as necessary.
+ Select wood or block of metal to be used or rough casting or any other material which may be provided.
+ Determine parting line of pattern, amount of draft to be allowed, and type of cores to be used to produce castings. In addition, determine shrinkage to be expected.
+ Make allowances for machining and decide on working procedure.
+ Assemble parts and fasten together with screws, bolts, dowels, solder, glue, etc.
+ Finish metal pattern by filling low spots, misruns, and joints with solder or other material, then filing, scraping, grinding, sanding, and polishing.
+ Finish wood pattern by filling cracks and joints and making radii in angles with wood fillets, wax, or putty. File, sand and coat with shellac, lacquer, or other material.
+ Layout, construct and finish plastic or plaster patterns or core boxes.
+ Check, modify, and maintain existing wood, metal, plaster, plastic patterns, models, and supplementary equipment such as core patterns, core boxes, core driers, sample flasks, fixtures, etc.
+ Use and maintain standard pattern maker tools and equipment.
+ Assist and support other team members and work with minimal supervision.
+ Clean work area and perform other miscellaneous duties inherent to the job.
+ Work shifts (choice of shift based on seniority).
+ Go over job with supervisor, designer, or foundry supervisor to straighten out problems of construction or molding.
+ Finish up rough castings made from wood pattern and make plaster casts.
+ Instruct and direct work of apprentices.
**Minimum Qualifications:**
+ Must be at least 18 years of age.
+ Must be legally eligible to work in US on a full-time basis.
+ Patternmaking or Tool & Die Making journeyperson's cardora related AAS diploma withat least two yearsof relevant work experience.
+ Ability to perform manual tasks related to described job duties for duration of work shift; including but not limited to frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
+ Ability and willingness to work potential overtime (including weekends).

As a **Production Welder** with John Deere in Horicon, WI, you will:
Perform weld operations in a production environment focused on safety, quality, and teamwork. Job details are dependent on duties assigned but in general consist of the following:
+ Weld parts and sub-assemblies to specification using various welding processes.
+ Adjust voltage, heat, pressure, and speed to maintain quality.
+ Read and comprehend work instructions and follow established procedures.

**Minimum Qualifications:**

+ High School Diploma or G.E.D.
+ National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC)
+ At least3 yearsof manufacturing work experience
+ Must have a weld certification (or equivalent)orat least 6 months experience welding in a manufacturing environment.
