This role is essential for the successful execution of various construction projects, requiring skilled operation of a wide range of heavy machinery. You will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders, and more, ensuring project timelines and quality standards are met. - Safely and efficiently operate various types of heavy construction equipment, including but not limited to excavators, backhoes, bulldozers, motor graders, compactors, and loaders.
- Perform pre-operation checks on equipment to ensure it is in good working order, reporting any defects or malfunctions immediately.
- Follow project plans, blueprints, and instructions to complete tasks accurately.
- Maintain equipment cleanliness and perform minor maintenance as needed.
- Adhere to all site safety rules, regulations, and protocols, including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Operate equipment in a manner that minimizes environmental impact.
- Coordinate with site supervisors and other crew members to ensure smooth project workflow.
- Transport equipment safely to and from job sites as required.
- Troubleshoot minor equipment issues in the field.
- Assist with loading and unloading materials and equipment.
- Contribute to a positive and productive team environment.
- Operate machinery with precision for tasks such as digging, grading, trenching, and earthmoving.
- Ensure all work complies with industry standards and project specifications.
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is often required or preferred.
- Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment for at least 3-5 years.
- Certification from a recognized heavy equipment operator training program is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the operation, maintenance, and safety procedures for various types of heavy machinery.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Strong understanding of construction site safety practices.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and site plans.
- Physical stamina and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Team player with good communication skills.
- Willingness to undergo drug and alcohol testing.
