What You Will Do

  • Collect, receive, and log raw material and finished product samples at pre-scheduled intervals or as requested from manufacturing sites.
  • Conduct sample preparations, including raw material conditioning, crushing, pulverizing, and cutting using various mechanical equipment and following Decatur technical center procedures and relevant ASTM standards.
  • Conduct laboratory tests, including (but not limited to) tests for sodium, chlorides, sulfates, sulfur, pH, moisture, MMR using Ion Chromatography and Gas Chromatography instruments.
  • Maintain laboratory electronic notebook to include meeting notes, calibration records, quality assurance records, task checklists, work planning log and daily verification of accuracy.
  • Ensure integrity of analytical data by verifying lab testing data for completeness and accuracy, ensuring compliance, evaluating procedures updating and refining as necessary.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment following site environmental, health and safety guidelines, as well as 6S standard practices.

This pivotal role will focus on optimizing our supply chain network, identifying inefficiencies, and developing innovative solutions to enhance operational performance across all distribution channels. You will be instrumental in leveraging data-driven insights to forecast demand, manage inventory levels, and streamline transportation routes. Responsibilities will include conducting in-depth analysis of existing logistics processes, modeling potential network changes, and presenting findings and recommendations to senior management. Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and interpret complex logistics data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain sophisticated network models to evaluate cost-effectiveness and service levels.
  • Design and implement optimized transportation and warehousing strategies.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure alignment on network initiatives.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations on network performance and strategic recommendations.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and proactively address deviations.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging technologies in logistics and supply chain management.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain analysis, or network design.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as SQL, Python, R, and advanced Excel.
  • Experience with network modeling and optimization software (e.g., Llamasoft, AnyLogic).
  • Strong understanding of transportation management systems (TMS) and warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively.
  • Proven ability to work independently in a remote setting and manage time effectively.
