**The Patent Attorney has diverse responsibilities including, but not limited to**
+ Freedom to Operate analysis
+ Intellectual property transactions/agreements
+ U.S. patent drafting

**Experience and Education What you'll bring to the table!**
+ Ph.D. and strong background in genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics or in a plant science discipline.
+ Juris Doctor from an accredited institution in the U.S. and admission to at least one State Bar.
+ 3-5 years of current experience in hands-on drafting and/or prosecuting patent applications as a Registered U.S. Patent Attorney, preferably in a law firm.
+ Capable of analyzing patent landscape and advising clients on FTO and patentability considerations for complex technologies.
+ Experience working with foreign associates to assist and coordinate filing and prosecution of international patent matters.
+ Ability to work independently and proactively with minimal direction.
+ Ability to maintain effectiveness when experiencing major changes in work tasks or work environment and to facilitate implementation and acceptance of change within the workplace.
+ Strong organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and ability to prioritize projects and meet aggressive deadlines.
+ Superior communication, influencing and networking skills.
+ Outstanding writing skills demonstrated by original writing samples of patent applications, prosecution submissions, memorandums, and other communications.
**The following skill sets are preferred by the Legal function but not required**
+ Post-graduate R&D laboratory experience for 2 or more years.
+ Experience with independently prosecuting large patent dockets.
+ Experience with developing and implementing IP strategies and IP portfolio analyses.

We are seeking a Junior Marketing Attorney to join the Athletes First Family. This is a full-time position located at either our New York, New York office or our Laguna Hills, California headquarters, reporting to our Associate General Counsel. Compensation and title will be commensurate with experience.

Job responsibilities shall include, but are not limited to, the following :

  • Marketing, Sponsorship, Media, and Broadcasting Contracts – Draft, review, and negotiate sponsorship, media sales, marketing, and broadcasting contracts, including endorsement, appearance, trading card, memorabilia, licensing, event sponsorship and other similar agreements for athletes, coaches, broadcasters, and other celebrities, and on behalf of our owned and operated events, working directly with our Talent Marketing, Properties, Media Sales, and Broadcasting division staff under the supervision of our Associate General Counsel.
  • Other Legal Matters – Assist the Associate General Counsel and General Counsel with various other internal and external legal matters as needed.
  • Administrative – Manage and maintain contract submission, tracking and filing system.

Basic Requirements / Qualifications :

  • J.D. degree from an accredited law school required.
  • Member of New York or California State Bar (or other major state bar association) preferred.
  • 1 - 3 years of experience as a practicing attorney at a law firm or in an in-house legal department.
  • Experience at a top-tier law firm preferred.
  • Experience in sports or entertainment law preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including ability to communicate effectively with a variety of contacts, including outside attorneys, internal business partners, and counterparties.
  • Demonstrated dedication with the ability to independently lead projects from origin through execution.
  • Ability to work full-time hours, which includes some evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
