Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Inventory & Stock Control Manager to oversee all aspects of inventory management for their retail operations in Chicago, Illinois, US . This crucial role ensures the accurate tracking, storage, and availability of merchandise, directly impacting sales, customer satisfaction, and profitability. You will be responsible for developing and implementing robust inventory control systems, optimizing stock levels to meet demand while minimizing holding costs, and conducting regular cycle counts and physical inventories. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with inventory management software, strong analytical skills to identify trends and discrepancies, and a deep understanding of supply chain principles within a retail environment. You will work closely with merchandising, operations, and store teams to ensure efficient product flow and accurate stock data. Key responsibilities include managing the receiving and dispatch of goods, investigating and resolving inventory discrepancies, implementing best practices for stock rotation and organization, and generating reports on inventory status, turnover, and shrinkage. This position requires a proactive approach to identifying potential issues and implementing solutions to maintain optimal inventory accuracy. This is a hybrid role, offering flexibility between office-based strategic planning and on-site operational oversight. We are looking for a leader who can drive efficiency and accuracy in our inventory processes. - Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and variances promptly.
- Manage relationships with suppliers regarding delivery schedules and stock discrepancies.
- Implement strategies to minimize stock shrinkage and obsolescence.
- Generate regular inventory reports for management, highlighting key performance indicators.
- Train and supervise inventory control staff.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and security regulations within stockrooms and warehouses.
- Utilize inventory management software to track stock movements and maintain data integrity.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in inventory management, stock control, or warehouse management, preferably in a retail setting.
- Proficiency with inventory management software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) and MS Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Knowledge of supply chain and logistics principles.
