About the role
Savills is seeking a Research Analyst to join our research team, covering the Minneapolis market. Joining as a Research Analyst provides an opportunity for individuals to work in a research and data services role, and gain industry experience and knowledge for a long-term career within the organization’s collaborative platform. Working under the guidance of the regional Research Director, the candidate will collect, update, analyze and present office market data across the Minneapolis market and provide support to the broader national Research team. Specific responsibilities to include:
- Learn, track, and analyze factors including property, market and economic data impacting the local commercial real estate markets
- Provide regular updates to, and maintenance of, proprietary market information databases, including building and owner information, stacking plans, lease and sale comparables, tenants in the market, and other key data points
- Contribute to the production of quarterly office market statistics and reports
- Respond to all requests for data and information in a timely and accurate manner
- Work with brokerage, consultant, marketing, and graphics teams to best position research to contribute to business development, client service efforts, and pursuit strategy
- Participate in training activities and network and exchange best practices across the research team
- Work with client-facing teams to prepare pitch and marketing materials
Qualifications
- BA or BS degree in business, marketing or related field; commercial real estate research experienced preferred
- Accomplished with Microsoft Office Suite, Internet research, and various other types of analytical and presentation software, Salesforce experience a plus
- Strong problem-solving, analytic and data visualization skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including written, verbal and presentation delivery
- Consistently demonstrate a high level of performance and professionalism
- Self-starter who works independently and thinks proactively and strategically
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in statistics, mathematics, educational research, social sciences, computer science or a related analytical discipline required; master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of two years' professional experience in a data analytics or research; prior higher education experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, is required.
- Experience with statistical software such as SPSS, R, Python, or Jamovi is required.
- Experience with data visualization, ERP, and/or survey tools such as Ellucian Colleague, SQL, Qualtrics, Tableau is preferred.
- Strong abilities in quantitative and qualitative data analysis, research methodologies, and problem-solving.
- Ability to organize research results and conclusions in variety of formats to key stakeholders.
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and project management skills.
- High degree of integrity, reliability, and confidentiality.

About the Role:
The work of a Research Analyst helps fulfill the Bank’s core monetary policy mission through the production of substantive research and public outreach. The main responsibilities are to provide high quality support for Research economists on analyzing current economic conditions and conducting long-term research projects for publication. Some of the work will used in pre-Federal Open Market Committee briefings, as well as presentations to the Board of Directors. These responsibilities will be conducted in a setting of observing the procedures of the Bank’s Research Department, fulfilling expectations and requirements of our customers, and management of priorities. You are committed to continuous improvement, both in the delivery of support services and in self-development. Over the course of the two-year program, research analysts will gain experience in working with data, writing memos, blog posts for Dallas Fed Economics and articles for The Southwest Economy, conducting statistical and econometric analysis, and learning the core theoretical frameworks for studying the economy.
You Will:
- Assist economists in their academic research and policy analysis as a member of the energy, financial, international, macroeconomics, or regional group. Such work includes:
- Accessing, organizing, analyzing, and visualizing data
- Conducting background analysis
- Performing statistical and econometric analysis
- Running econometric or quantitative models
- Contribute ideas and suggestions for project improvement
- Assist on other projects
- Work with other research analysts and serve as backup support
You Have:
- Bachelor’s degree with coursework in economics, and knowledge of statistics and/or econometrics tools with mathematical background through multi-variable calculus
- Ability to describe economic trends in writing
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Basic knowledge of economic variables
- Some prior knowledge of the purpose and nature of specific data sets requested by economists
- Understanding of core econometric techniques that encourage interpretation and use of data in economic analysis
- Familiarity with writing programs in an econometric or statistical package such as STATA, R, Python, or EVIEWS
- Equivalent education and/or experience may be substituted for any of the above requirements
