Summary:

As a Kindergarten Teacher Assistant at Chesterbrook Academy, you will help create, manage, and participate in a variety of learning environments and activities that provide opportunities for students to develop to their fullest potential and achieve their learning objectives. Participate collaboratively and professionally with other teachers and staff to promote the general well-being of the school, and the collective/individual interest of its staff and student body.

Hours: 8:00am-5:00pm or 9:00am-6:00pm (Monday through Friday)

Student Age Range:  Kindergarten ( five to six year old's )

Pay Range: $17.00 to $22.00 (depending on education and experience)

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age or older.

• Must be able to carry or lift 25 pounds or less (25-50%) often and 25-50 pounds (10-25%) occasionally. 

• Complies with all company and state-specific standards and maintains validation of required credentials for the position. 

• Ability to successfully pass state and federal background check.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to connect with students.

• A minimum of one of the following:

  • High School Diploma or GED AND at least 30 credit hours in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary Education, or the Human Services field.

  • High School Diploma or GED AND 15 relevant credits (or CDA) with at least 1 year of experience with children.

  • High School Diploma or GED AND at least two years of experience with children

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Preschool  Substitute Teacher shall prayerfully help students learn attitudes, skills and subject matter that will contribute to their development as mature, able and responsible Christians to the praise and glory of God. The teacher shall plan, organize and teach while integrating biblical principles in the Christian philosophy of education throughout the curriculum and activities. They will monitor, evaluate, and keep students, parents and the administration adequately informed of progress or deficiencies; attend and participate in scheduled devotional, in-service, retreats, committees, faculty and scheduled parent meetings; follow the Matthew 18 principle in dealing with conflict with students, parents, staff, and administration.
