Position Overview
The Systems Administrator (SA) is an essential role on the KIPP NYC Technology team. The SA will be responsible for supporting the Senior System Administrator to deliver best-in-class technology services to the KIPP NYC Region. The Systems Administrator will embrace operational excellence, continuous improvement and innovation. A successful candidate will be able to dive into the details, while meeting the challenge of finding ways to work smarter and more cost-efficiently.
This position is based at the KIPP NYC Shared Services Team (SST) office in midtown Manhattan and will travel to the other KIPP NYC schools (Harlem, Bronx, Brooklyn) as needed. The Systems Administrator will report to the Senior System Administrator and will also work closely and collaboratively with their Technology teammates, as well as other Shared Services Teams and school-based Operations Teams to deliver exceptional IT services. The role will also require interactions with external vendors and support services to identify and implement solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities, including but not limited to:
The Systems Administrator will support the Senior Systems Administrator in delivering high-performance, secure, reliable technology infrastructure that supports the organizational strategy. Together, they will be responsible for all day-to-day Technology service delivery and response to requests for support, including:
- Evaluate and approve Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) patches in tiers (rings)
- Maintaining server security patches
- Configure network printers and add them to the print servers (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP)reservation + adding /sharing it)
- Manage DHCP scopes
- Manage DNS Domain Name System (DNS) configurations
- Manage/Support Content Filtering management (adding/removing/troubleshooting of websites not working or miscategorized)
- Manage/Support software installation and troubleshooting
- Create & maintain script repository (PowerShell / bash / batch)
- Work with Senior Systems Administrator to create VMs
- Manage renewal of SSL Certs (provide to Senior systems admin for installation)
- Admin for MDM (JAMF) management
- Troubleshoot user account issues (password reset, account lockout, etc)
- Manage/Support Active Directory maintenance (GPO policies, security groups, etc)
- Manage/Support administration of intranet site needs (KIPP GO)
- Manage/Support wireless needs (creating new SSIDs, changing PSK, basic troubleshooting issues)
- Manage/Support installation / replacing / upgrading hardware as needed (servers, switches, firewall, printers, aps, etc)
- Develop and maintain system documentation documentation
- Assist/participate with security audits and vulnerability assessments.
- L1 support and escalate to senior systems admin as needed
Qualifications:
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, computer information systems or equivalent experience / certifications
- Minimum 3+ years of work experience in a tech related field, experience working in schools a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and/or data science experience

- Demonstrated ability to solve technical issues, especially providing outstanding customer service

Additional Information
KIPP NYC offers a competitive salary ranging from $75,000 to $92,500. Salary ranges at KIPP NYC are standardized based on role level and role function. Individual salaries are determined through a lens of equity, accounting for years of experience relevant to the role and scope of responsibilities, and are benchmarked against others within the same salary band.

As a Site Director, you will use our nationally recognized curriculum as a framework to create unique and engaging classroom experiences. Site Directors are committed to making their site successful and know that important relationships with children, families, and their team are critical to success. Successful Site Directors are fully engaged, enthusiastic about their work, and eager to share their knowledge.
When you join our team as a Site Director, you will:
- Lead and supervise a group of teachers to create unique and engaging classroom experiences, leverage and develop "best in class" educators to be passionate and committed professionals
- Ensure your site is operating effectively; maintain licensing, safety, and educational standards
- Partner with parents with a shared desire to provide the best care and education for their children
- Cultivate positive relationships with families, teachers, school and district leaders, state licensing authorities, community contacts, and corporate partners
- Lead recruitment and enrollment efforts of new families and children in our sites
- At least one year of teaching experience with the ability to develop, engage, and inspire a team
- A love for children and a strong desire to make a difference every day
- Ability to build relationships with families and staff and create a dynamic environment where play and discovery go hand-in-hand
- Outstanding customer service skills, strong organizational skills, multi-task and manage multiple situations effectively
- Meet state specific guidelines for the role
- Be physically able to use a computer with basic proficiency, lift a minimum of 40 pounds, and work indoors or outdoors. Be able to assume postures in low levels to allow physical and visual contact with children, see and hear well enough to keep children safe, and engage in physical activity
- Read, write, understand, and speak English to communicate with children and their parents in English
