**Job Summary**
The Manager of Lab supervises technical and support staff and oversees daily Laboratory operations. This includes ensuring regulatory requirements are met and monitoring test systems. The Manager also supervises staff activities, work assignments, hiring, termination, performance reviews, orientation, and professional development.
**Essential Functions of the Role**
+ Manages the daily functions of the laboratory to ensure efficiency. Performs all delegated functions as defined by the facility CLIA Director.
+ Prepares schedules, coordinates job assignments, and monitors personnel including the selection, orientation, training, assignments, evaluations, discipline, and discharge of employees.
+ Ensures staff has the training, experience, and skills needed for their duties by coordinating education, in-services, and orientations.
+ Maintains appropriate personnel and patient records in accordance with established policies and procedures.
+ Assist with budgeting. Provide information about supplies, personnel, and equipment. Seek cost containment avenues. Plan long-term purchases or capital equipment.
+ Establishes and implements quality assurance programs and maintains standards and records that document compliance with regulatory agencies.

Responsible for making sure that all laboratory work performed meets or exceeds the minimum requirements set forth in the quality manual and the test procedure.
Responsible for making sure that laboratory has the appropriate resources in place to execute testing per applicable standards. This includes but is not limited to acquiring and maintaining equipment, cross training, preparing and reviewing lab reports, client coordination, resolving conflicts, coordination with other departments and administrative requirements.
Preferred Key Criteria/Requirements:
  Graduation from High School or equivalent.
  Good skills in math and communications.
  Ability to lift concrete, soil, or asphalt samples up to 50lbs as a routine part of the job.
 Has the ability to self-supervise and manage multiple employees (laboratory staff)
 10+ years Construction Materials or Geotechnical Testing experience with min 5 years experience as Laboratory Manager or Supervisor.
 Must possess or ability to obtain within six month all relevant TXDOT certification including but not limited to SB101, SB102, SB103, SB201, SB202, AGG101, level 2, ACI Strength, ACI Field, Level 1A.
 Advanced Geotechnical testing such as CUs, UUs, Tri-axials is a plus
 Ability to work overtime hours
 Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record
 Ability to use a computer and familiar with Microsoft environment (advance levels a plus)

The Ferguson Industrial MMS Laboratory Manager is responsible for leading and assisting a technical team performing laboratory and evaluative testing of pressure piping components, maintaining quality processes, activities, and accreditations, and collaborating with our business groups, suppliers, and customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain the quality management system and overall laboratory activities in accordance with the ISO/IEC 17025 standard.

  • Direct and assist a team assessing product conformity, certification, and technical evaluations to support safety, user confidence, and business goals.

  • Coordinate product inspections or product testing to support root cause analysis. This includes physically analyzing and assessing products with respect to qualification and investigations.

  • Serve as a technical resource for internal and external partners (inspection, auditing, manufacturing, customers, etc.), our associates, and cross-functional teams, and development of Own Brand product specifications.

  • Participate in supplier and product assessments and verifications, perform investigations, and ensure resolution of quality or conformance issues.

  • Conduct physical testing of products using various tools and techniques i.e., metallography, spectrometers, hardness, bending, tensile, pressure, and nondestructive testing.

  • Able to operate machinery for prep of specimens including saws, lathes, grinders, mounters, polishers, etc.

  • Collaborate with regulatory and certification agencies as needed.

  • Participate in customer presentations and audits.

  • Lead continuous improvement of laboratory processes, procedures, and capabilities.

  • Develop benchmarks, reporting, and analysis for specific product categories.

  • Prepare accredited and non-accredited test reports.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's (or greater) in Engineering or another technical field.

  • Previous leadership experience in leading teams.

  • 7+ years of experience in a metallurgical and/or materials testing laboratory or similar technical environment.

  • 3+ years of experience in testing metallic pressure piping components for industrial use and their manufacturing.

  • 3+ years of experience with industrial standards, specifications, codes, and organizations e.g.,(ASTM, ASME, MSS, API, NACE, EPRI)

  • Experience with ISO Standards (17025 & 9001)

  • Ability to comprehend and follow written standards, work instructions, user and maintenance manuals, etc, and conversant in communicating sophisticated technical information.

  • Ability to prioritize and lead deadlines, handle stress, and work well in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a cohesive, goal-oriented team.

  • Poise and maturity to work well with associates, vendors, and customers.

What You Will Do:

Qualifications You Need:

  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of related experience, or a Master's degree with 6+ years of experience.
  • Must possess a DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (CompTIA Security+).
  • Track record of leading technical teams and achieving project goals through mentorship and coordination.
  • Experience with Agile frameworks in iterative development and delivery cycles.
  • Hands-on expertise in designing, deploying, and troubleshooting complex network infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of SD-WAN technologies, specifically Cisco, VERSA, and Juniper platforms.
  • Deep understanding of WAN environments and core routing protocols like BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and ISIS.
  • Familiarity with campus and enterprise networking focusing on high availability.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Visio for technical documentation and network diagrams.
  • Must be a US Citizen with at least a Secret security clearance, eligible for upgrade to Top Secret for access to SCI.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with automation tools such as Ansible and Python scripting.
  • Experience in structured CI/CD pipelines.
  • Solid understanding of virtualization, cloud-native, and container technologies.
  • Previous work with Public/Gov/DoD Cloud environments.
  • Experience with Firewall technologies (e.g. Palo Alto, Cisco, Juniper).
  • Ability to troubleshoot network issues and evaluate emerging technologies.
  • Capability of building environments from ground up and resolving complex problems creatively.

As a _Clinical Learning Lab Manage r_ at Galen College of Nursing, you will coordinate and support clinical learning laboratory experiences for all learners in collaboration with faculty, campus and college leaders to ensure quality and continuity in the achievement of course student learning outcomes (CSLOs) for all programs. Provides oversight of Clinical Learning Laboratory (CLL) application of the applicable Healthcare Simulation Standards of Best Practice (HSSOBP) to effectively integrate standardized CLL lesson plans and CPE procedures.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. Coordinate and supervise the operation of the clinical learning laboratory to provide standardized learning experiences.
2. Assists faculty and students with the use and operation of laboratory equipment, supplies, and standardized lesson plans.
3. Assists faculty and staff with lab preparation based on course requirements for the clinical learning labs.
4. May serve as faculty substitute in the facilitation of laboratory sessions as needed.
5. Collaborates with campus leadership and college clinical leaders to obtain and provide training on equipment and supplies to be utilized in the clinical learning laboratory.
6. Coordinates the maintenance of equipment and supplies necessary for the effective use of all learning labs, including communication with third parties in collaboration with college clinical leaders.
7. Coordinates the use of labs for all functions, including regular classes, special class sections, open lab, advanced clinical skills, replacement clinical experiences, Competency Performance Examinations (CPEs), and special events.
8. Assists with standardized orientation and training for clinical learning lab faculty and technicians in accordance with the HSSOBP.
9. Oversee and assist with the hiring, training, performance appraisal, and mentoring of dedicated CLL faculty and technicians under the direction of the campus leadership.
10. Maintains campus CLL inventory and inventory systems in collaboration with campus and college clinical leaders and CLL technicians.
11. Performs walk-through evaluations on faculty teaching in clinical learning labs for all programs and reports findings to campus leadership.
12. Makes recommendations for curriculum changes for all programs to the curriculum council and Director of Clinical Learning - CLL based on research and needs identified when performing oversight in both the clinical learning labs and CPE administration.
13. Communicates and integrates college-wide policy and process changes regarding CLL standardization and operation.
14. Attend campus level course committee meetings.
15. Other duties as assigned.

**Key Responsibilities:**
Galen College is looking for a Clinical Learning Lab Manager to manage learning laboratory experiences for all learners in collaboration with program faculty to ensure quality and continuity in the achievement of curriculum objectives for all programs.
What you will do in this role:
+ Facilitates lab services for all nursing programs and supports faculty instruction to include oversight and direction for all skills labs.
+ Assists program directors, faculty, and students in the lab setting with integration of simulation into the curriculum and establishes a positive learning atmosphere that assists learners in achieving curriculum objectives.
+ Prepares and assists with lab set ups based on course requirements for both the clinical learning labs and simulation.
+ Assists with the maintenance of equipment and supplies necessary for effective use of all learning laboratories, to include the functioning of all simulation mannequins or other simulation equipment.
+ Supervises and evaluates students' progress in meeting designated program student learning outcomes (PSLOs) and course student learning outcomes (CSLOs) and reports progress to course faculty and program directors through end of term reports.
+ Coordinates and schedules use of labs for all functions, including regular classes, special class sections, open lab, advanced clinical skills, and clinical skills evaluation.
+ Provides and develops all training for clinical learning lab faculty regarding the administration of CPEs at the beginning of each term to include lab equipment, changes to curriculum, software, and/or supplies to be used.
+ Performs quarterly evaluations on all faculty teaching in clinical learning labs for both programs and reports findings with program directors and others as deemed necessary.
+ Makes recommendations for curriculum changes for all programs to the director of simulation or program directors based on research and needs identified when performing oversight in both the clinical learning labs and CPE administration.
+ ·Assists with the design, implementation, and evaluation of effective instructional tutoring strategies, methods, and technologies in conjunction with program faculty. Reviews and analyzes quarterly student lab evaluations and makes recommendations for changes and/or identified problems noted.

+ Prepare and maintain the quality management system and overall laboratory activities in accordance with the ISO/IEC 17025 standard.
+ Direct and assist a team assessing product conformity, certification, and technical evaluations to support safety, user confidence, and business goals.
+ Coordinate product inspections or product testing to support root cause analysis. This includes physically analyzing and assessing products with respect to qualification and investigations.
+ Serve as a technical resource for internal and external partners (inspection, auditing, manufacturing, customers, etc.), our associates, and cross-functional teams, and development of Own Brand product specifications.
+ Participate in supplier and product assessments and verifications, perform investigations, and ensure resolution of quality or conformance issues.
+ Conduct physical testing of products using various tools and techniques i.e., metallography, spectrometers, hardness, bending, tensile, pressure, and nondestructive testing.
+ Able to operate machinery for prep of specimens including saws, lathes, grinders, mounters, polishers, etc.
+ Collaborate with regulatory and certification agencies as needed.
