Kelly Outsourcing Consulting Group Kelly OCG, a managed solution provider and business unit of Kelly Services, Inc., is currently seeking a Lab Scientist for a position at one of our Global medical device clients in Jacksonville, Florida. This role is a full-time, fully benefited position. As a Kelly OCG employee, you will be eligible for Medical, Dental, 401K and paid time off, including holiday, vacation and sick/personal time.
On site
Monday to Friday 8am -5pm
Length of assignment: until the end of year (possible extension)
Pay $25-30 an hour depending on expereince
**Job Description** :
The lab scientist will assist the area engineer in executing various assigned tasks related to material and process innovation projects in the industry of medical products.
+ Design and execute experiments to better understand material properties and its processing.
+ Install and qualify material characterization and manufacturing processing equipment
+ Develop test methods and document test procedures using instruments in the laboratory.
+ Analyze and interpret test results.
+ Prepare presentation materials, reports, and other documentation.
+ Manage laboratory work area and equipment to meet EHS procedures and inspections requirements to maintain a safe and compliant workspace.
+ Assist engineer in procuring lab supplies and equipment.
+ Plan and execute activities related to lab equipment repair and maintenance.
+ Assist engineer in design/fabrication of prototypes related to process innovation projects in medical devices.
**Job Requirements** :
+ A minimum of a high School degree is required; an associate degree or bachelor's degree in a Science/Engineering is preferred.
+ At least two (2) years of work experience as a lab scientist
+ Analytical and detail oriented
+ Good communication and documentation skills
+ Proficient in excel, word and MS PowerPoint
+ Ability to take verbal instructions and formalize test strategy.
+ Knowledge of material testing and analysis
+ Working knowledge of the following equipment is a plus (Rheometer, Differential Scanning calorimeter (DSC), Thermogravimetric Analyzer (TGA), Tensile Tester, Vapor Sorption Analyzer (DVS), Keyence Digital microscope)
+ Position will have the following physical demands: stooping, walking, pulling, light lifting (up to 25 lbs.), grasping, hearing, visual acuity, kneeling, reaching, pushing, talking, and standing.
+ Ability to work with limited supervision.
