Our Early Development team focuses on Phase I and IB trials which represent the first practical tests of a compound's clinical relevance and commercial viability. They are the culmination of years or even decades of research. Moreover, they set the stage for subsequent studies that will ultimately determine your compound's efficacy, safety and positive impact on patient's lives.
**Discover Impactful Work:**
As a Research Lab Tech, you will perform laboratory procedures such as blood harvesting and urine monitoring according to protocol as assigned. You will be responsible for working with coordinators to assure the smooth and orderly flow of procedures in the Clinics, Lab and Urine Monitoring areas.
**A day in the Life:**
+ Collects and harvest plasma, serum, and all other required laboratory specimens according to protocol specifications.
+ Monitors the collection of urine and/or fecal specimens from subjects participating in studies.
+ Completes all required study documents and might need to be trained on special equipment per protocol.
+ Assures that all procedures and processing areas are maintained in a neat, clean, and organized manner.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.

**Education**
+ High / Secondary school diploma or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification
+ Technical positions may require a certificate
**Experience**
+ Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 0 to 1 year).

**Location/Division Specific Information**
Our global Clinical Operations colleagues within our PPD® clinical research services provide end-to-end support for clinical trials from study start up to monitoring through to study close out, across commercial and government contracts. Together, we help clients define and develop clinical programs, minimize delays, and execute high-quality, cost-efficient clinical studies.
**Discover Impactful Work:**
Receives lab samples and checks them in daily, enters data accurately, and tracks samples. Assures proper documentation and notification to supervisor, project managers, and clients. Provides clerical and administrative support to the department
**A day in the Life:**
+ Coordinates and performs all administrative functions related to project management, sample management, scheduling, client communication, technical documentation and other project management tasks.
+ Interacts and communicates with project team in supporting their administrative needs and meeting project timelines. Contacts central lab sites to follow-up on services provided and to monitor and increase customer satisfaction.
+ Quality checks and reviews reports and evaluates against source documents for accuracy of transcription.
+ Creates forms and performs other word processing assignments (correspondence, meeting minutes, etc.).
+ Receives and logs into LIMS database daily shipments of samples for analysis, assuring proper storage and notification of receipt to clients and project leaders.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.

**Physical Requirements / Work Environment**
+ Frequently stands, twists waists, squats, and bends neck for 4-6 hours per day.
+ Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists. Ability to make precise coordinated movements, of the fingers to grasp and manipulate objects.
+ Frequent mobility required.
+ Occasional crouching, stooping, bending and twisting of upper body and neck.
+ Moderate lifting (or otherwise movement, carrying, setting, and placement)of 15-30 lbs. with a maximum lift of 35 lbs.
