Duties:
**

• Performing generalist duties for multiple areas of the laboratory which can include Core lab, Microbiology, and/or blood bank.
• Enter and retrieve patient data, test requests quality control data and instrument performance data utilizing laboratory computer.
• Process patient specimens following established protocol, including reference lab specimens and needed paperwork, in a timely manner.
• Perform daily maintenance and minor troubleshooting on a laboratory instrumentation as needed, recording any work done in appropriate log books.
• Perform patient specimen analysis following all established protocols regarding quality control and methods of analysis while observing health and safety regulations.
• Must be able to complete multiple tasks in a timely and accurate manner and maintain patient confidentiality .

**Schedule**
Full Time, Evening Shift (80 hours biweekly)
Hours: Monday - Friday, 3:00pm - 11:00pm
Rotation: Weekend / Holiday rotations
**General Summary**
Performs a variety of general support duties in specimen procurement, clerical office, central processing, and/or other assigned areas at an entry skills level. Functions in on- and/or off-site service areas. May work any part of a 24 hour period. May be required to accept on-call responsibilities.
**Essential Functions:**
+ Answers telephones, routes callers, takes messages and provides routine information to callers.
+ May receive specimens into the laboratory, process specimens, deliver specimens to on- and off-site locations, store specimens for future analysis and dispose of specimens.
+ May receive and transport supplies, equipment, reports and specimens between the laboratory and other health care locations.
+ May collect specimens as directed using appropriate or specified equipment for collecting and handling specimens.
+ Enters or retrieves data from established computer files.
+ Provides complete and accurate instructions to patients and other customers of the laboratory.

+ Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span of the assigned patient population. Assesses and interprets patient age specific data and provides appropriate, age specific treatment. Provides direct patient care to assigned patient age group(s).
