POSITION OVERVIEW
This position will involve receiving shipments; loading and unloading freight; inventory organization and documentation; performing maintenance and cleaning duties to keep the lab and storage areas clean and neat; and assisting with additional laboratory shipping and receiving duties as necessary. The position also involves working with backup c-vial samples, including filing, documentation, and retrieval of samples as needed. The position requires a high level of organization, reliability, and attention to detail.
ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receiving, documenting, and distributing supply shipments
- Loading and unloading supplies to and from delivery trucks
- Verifying and inspecting incoming supplies for proper quantities and defects
- Scanning and uploading packing slips for documentation
- Organizing supplies into storage and accurately keeping track of inventory
- Managing the storage room to ensure an organized, safe, and clean work environment
- Properly rotating inventory stock with expiration dates: first in, first out
- Retrieving and delivering supplies from storage to the lab teams as requested, including assisting with daily stocking of laboratory supply shelves
- Handling storage and retrieval of the backup samples from the lab:

- Receiving the samples from Accessioning, checking them into the LIMS system, and filing them into the correct storage locations
- Fulfilling requests for samples to be pulled from storage and delivered to the lab for additional work
- Handling VIP sample requests in an expedient manner
- Fulfilling requests to relabel or pull and destroy samples as needed
- Receiving and responding to inter-departmental communications (email and slack)
- Assisting other laboratory teams when needed, including but not limited to: organization and relocation of laboratory equipment; replacement of air and water filters; providing assistance with equipment repair; and assisting with general cleaning and maintenance duties
- The ability to regularly lift and move objects of up to 100 lbs.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Ability to maintain a high level of physicality for prolonged periods and work primarily standing or moving
- Experience with LIMS systems and software such as Microsoft Excel and other company spreadsheet programs for keeping inventory
- Ability to problem solve quickly and prioritize daily tasks according to their importance

The Laboratory Directorship with a MS in Medical Management position at the University of Rochester Medical Center is a two-year program that provides in-depth and hands on clinical, administrative, teaching and research experience in laboratory management, medical directorship, and administration. **Compensation and Benefits**
The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in Illinois is $5.26- 22.89.

**_Job Summary_**
The Manager, Inventory Management leads the site's Inventory Management team and oversees the stocking optimization and inventory planning in the facility through a team of Supervisors and other professionals. The Manager contributes to the facility's profitability through managing supplier costs and driving operational improvements. As a primary liaison to the Souring function, the Manager provides key input into supplier negotiations, demand planning and forecasting and also translates operational changes in the broader distribution network into requirements for the facility.
**_Responsibilities_**
+ Oversees the site's Inventory Management team by setting short- and long-term objectives, directing tasks for individual teams and professionals, and providing guidance on complex issues. Leads regular meetings with Supervisors to ensure alignment.
+ Drives the profitability and operating margins of the facility by implementing supplier contracts with minimal costs. Regularly monitors revenues and costs at the supplier level and assesses opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
+ Based on expert knowledge of the facility's operations and analyses and reporting conducted by managed team, provides inputs into supplier negotiations executed by Sourcing teams. Ensures that supplier agreements are aligned to the capabilities and economics of the facility.
+ Provides input and feedback into the business unit's demand planning and forecasting based on inventory planning and supplier relations.
+ Evaluates the impact of changes in standard operating procedures, network planning and major supplier agreements on the facility's operations. Coordinates with Managers, Warehouse Operations and other site leaders in order to modify operations to meet new requirements and customer commitments.
+ Evaluates performance of teams and of direct reports, providing regular feedback and development opportunities. Participates in people management activities including performance reviews, recruiting and onboarding, and talent management.
+ Directs regular cycle counts and physical inventories to ensure high inventory accuracy and to troubleshoot and resolve customer issues.
**_Qualifications_**
+ 8-12 years of experience, preferred
+ Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
