We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Laboratory Operations Technician to support the daily operations of our laboratory. This is a full-time onsite position , Monday through Friday, based at our Northbrook laboratory. The role involves procurement coordination, vendor management, basic equipment troubleshooting and repair, and collaboration with internal departments to ensure smooth lab functionality.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate procurement of lab materials, supplies, equipment, and services based on user requests.
• Manage vendor relationships and accounts, ensuring timely delivery and service quality.
• Collaborate with Finance (Sourcing, Payables, etc.) to ensure accurate processing of purchases and invoices.
• Assist in the development of annual budgets and capital expenditure plans for laboratory equipment.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and repairs on electrical and mechanical lab equipment.
• Maintain inventory and ensure proper documentation of lab assets and tools.
• Operate Oracle or equivalent systems to input and extract relevant data.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the lab environment.
• Ensure compliance with UL Standards of Business Conduct and all physical/digital security protocols.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support lab operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or technical degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related field.
• Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Hands-on experience with troubleshooting and repairing lab or technical equipment.
• Familiarity with procurement processes and vendor management.
• Proficiency in using enterprise systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Total Rewards: We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. The estimated salary range for this position is $51,600 and $68,700 and is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, as well as other factors. This position is eligible for annual bonus compensation with a target payout of 5% of the base salary. This position also provides health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental and financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country. We also provide full-time employees with paid time off including vacation (15 days), holiday including floating holidays (12 days) and sick time off (72 hours).

PURPOSE: The Laboratory Operations Manager is responsible for the operations of the lab, working in tandem with the Histology Lab Manager to ensure administrative process are compliant, through direct supervision of the administrative team

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Staff Management: Responsible for managing and supervising lab administrative, accessioning and grossing staff, including hiring, training, evaluating, and terminating personnel; manage budgeting.
• Operational Oversight: Understanding all operational elements of the laboratory, standardizing laboratory supplies, equipment, and procedures, monitoring quality and documentation, and document control.
• Pathologist Support: Working closely with pathologists to ensure they have the resources they need.
• Compliance: Managing licensing requirements and inspections, assisting lab manager and medical director with CLIA and CAP preparation.
• Projects and reporting - as required to support initiatives of the operations
• Customer Service: provide excellent service to referring clinics, providers and patients by answering calls and assisting with needs.
• Issue Resolution: Ensuring referring clinic needs are met, working on any issues with patient billing, etc.
• Logistics: Overseeing couriers, managing schedules, specimen tracking, accessioning, grossing, lab administration, transcription, file room, revenue cycle management and billing support.
• Technical Management: Monitoring computer network, ensuring that electronic reports are being delivered as expected, overseeing set up of client interfaces, and monitoring performance of existing interfaces.
• Record Management: Managing storage of records and materials.
• Communication: Communicating regularly with Chief Pathology Officer and Chief Operating Officer.
• Facilities management: Maintains all equipment, cleaning and security protocols by working with landlord and appropriate vendors as needed.
• Additional Duties: Any other duties as required to ensure QualDerm Partners' operations are successful.

Requirements

• Bachelor degree preferred in related field
• 1 year laboratory or medical experience
• 3 years previous management experience

**How You'll Make an Impact**
As the **Laboratory Operations Manager,** you will lead and manage the daily operational functions of our laboratory while overseeing comprehensive Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) programs. **Responsibilities Include**

+ Administer document control, policy updates, and QMS compliance through the Global QMS platform in collaboration with corporate EHS managers.
+ Ensure proper hazardous waste management, including maintaining required documentation, submitting annual reports to the KY EPA, and updating the Chemical Hygiene Plan.
+ Lead quarterly EHS performance review meetings and present findings to the Lab Management Team.
+ Conduct and lead quarterly safety meetings to communicate key safety information to staff.
+ Develop, implement, and maintain onboarding and annual safety training programs for all lab employees.
+ Assign and manage the completion of EHS-related training courses through the company's learning management system.
**What You'll Need**
+ Minimum B.S. in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
+ 5+ years of progressive experience in lab operations and EHS program management, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial laboratory environment.
+ Proven leadership experience managing teams and cross-functional initiatives.
+ In-depth knowledge of regulatory frameworks, including ROC14001, OSHA, and Kentucky EPA regulations.
+ Proficiency in using EHS and QMS systems (e.g., Valvoline Global EHS, Global QMS).
+ Strong project management, communication, and organizational skills.
+ Experience with analytical test methods and laboratory methods is beneficial.

**POSITION SUMMARY**
Kelly is seeking a highly motivated, organized, and detail-oriented Operations Associate to support our Research and Development (R&D) lab. Responsibilities include performing equipment maintenance/cleaning, documenting work in our computerized maintenance management system, buffer preparation, autoclaving/dishwashing, restocking PPE, and general lab upkeep. Opportunities to engage in continuous improvement projects are also part of the role.
**REQUIREMENTS**
Specific responsibilities include:
+ Perform routine onsite lab operations daily, following applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

Plan, manage, organize and coordinate Laboratory services. Subject matter expert and the technical resource for the region in designated specialized area. Basic Qualifications:
Experience
+ Minimum four (4) years experience in high complexity testing.
+ Minimum three (3) years of leadership experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
Education
+ Bachelors degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, chemical, physical or biological science from an accredited institution. Proper documentation for applicable degree is required (i.e. copies of diplomas, transcripts, and/or U.S Equivalency Degree Report if needed). Major must be clearly stated on the document. If diploma does not indicate the major, an additional document that states major is required. Degree must include 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology OR 6 hours chemistry and 6 hours of biology and 12 hours of chemistry, biology or medical laboratory technology in any combination AND completion of a clinical laboratory training program approved or accredited by an organization approve by HHS and at least three (3) months documented laboratory training in each specialty the individual will supervise.

Under the supervision of the Administrative Laboratory Director, manages, assesses and coordinates all lab system operations, integrations and communications with Information Technologies (IT) department. This position works closely with IT at Chester County Hospital and Penn Medicine to be sure the lab systems are functioning properly. Assists the Laboratory Administrative team to ensure the Clinical Laboratory maintains accreditation compliance with the CAP, TJC, CLIA, AABB, and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Provides oversight to in-patient and out-patient phlebotomy. Demonstrates the ability to collaborate with a positive demeanor. Complies with department and hospital policies, procedures, objectives, and standards.

1. **Laboratory Information System**
· Operations - Understand laboratory system operations and how Sunquest,
CoPath, EPIC and Mobile MD interact to provide results. This includes outpatient collections sites.
· Laboratory Systems Maintenance - Prepare all requests for lab system maintenance and submit them to IT. Track all requests for completion and document changes for regulatory compliance. Perform any basic system maintenance as approved by IT.
· System Database Maintenance - Update Sunquest and CoPath directories for all new and changed providers. Maintain the fax server for Sunquest and CoPath, and assure chutes and faxes are sent as needed.
· Compendiums - Assist in maintaining laboratory test compendiums for each downstream system. These will include all information required for use. Communicate any changes made to downstream system users.
· Regulatory Compliance - Keep up to date with all lab information system regulations and assure compliance.
· Lab System Policy and Procedures - Assist in maintaining all laboratory documents that apply to the lab system in accordance with all regulatory agencies.
· Testing -Work with IT to provide scripts for testing any system that must interact with lab data. Testing must be recorded, compiled, evaluated and approved.
· Training - Prepare materials and train all lab personnel in use of all systems.
· Ad Hoc Reporting - Use the lab system reporting mechanism (Ad Hoc Report Writer) to generate data and report to end users. Maintain all reports on the server.
· Lab Result Flow - Work with IT to document all information paths from the lab system. This should be kept up to date so alternatives can be considered during downtime.
· Investigate and respond to all missing result or patient problem inquiries, referring to IT as needed.
· Other duties - Perform other functions as requested by lab leadership
**Education Training and Experience**
Medical Technologist with laboratory system experience is highly preferred. Experience in Sunquest, CoPath, EPIC and Beaker preferred. Experience with MS Office software including Access and Crystal Reports preferred.
