- Oversight of vendors supporting emergency communications, telecommunications services, and infrastructure. Coordinate with 911 Originating Service Providers, neighboring jurisdictions and Emergency Communications Relay Centers.
- Deployment of and support for Emergency Communications network infrastructure including racking and cabling equipment, Configure and test Emergency Communications network infrastructure, Technical support for E911 and NG911 telephony and telecommunications systems and services associated with 911 call delivery to New York City's Public Safety Answering Centers.
- Technical support for Text-to-911 (TT911) services, including inbound and outbound SMS, MMS and RTT technology and services. Technical support and oversight for vendor managed ESInet services and systems. Technical support for Public Safety Unified Communications systems and services. Technical support for all emergency point-to-point, alarm relays, automated inbound 911 relays, telematics and third-party 911 communications.
- Triage and investigate incidents involving communication, infrastructure and service failures, including identifying root cause and remediation.
- Technical support for 911 and TT911 test environments within the 911 lab, validate test cases and results.
- Provide Emergency Communication technology asset management support
- 11+ years of experience working in a data center or in the field supporting related work
- 11+ years of experience in network support, LAN/WAN troubleshooting.
- 11+ years of experience in communications routing, transport and delivery (Wireline, Wireless and VoIP)
- 11+ experience using documentation tools (MS Excel, MS Visio, MS Word, Etc.). Working knowledge of networking hardware and topologies. Working knowledge of telecommunication cabling standards, ability to pull and terminate cabling in a variety of customer environments
- Working Knowledge of computing systems and hardware
- Experience with LEC circuits termination and turn-up

Assist Borough employees with computer diagnostics, investigation of problems, and provision of technical assistance and support.
Assist in the maintenance of inventory for all LAN/WAN supplies.
Perform system backup operations.
Participate in information systems planning.
Schedule system repairs.
Basic installation of, and repairs to computer hardware, software, and peripheral equipment.
Referral of major hardware of software problems or defective equipment to engineers or technicians for assistance.
Maintenance of records regarding daily data communication transactions, problems and remedial actions taken, or installation activities conducted.
Remain current on all new trends and technologies relating to network development.
Provide first level support to the Borough's PC network computer uses including evaluation and diagnosis of problems, installation of software and software updates, and maintenance and repair of hardware and peripheral equipment.
Performs computer trouble shooting to diagnose network system problems; analyze personal computer and peripherals functionality; identify, resolves and repairs problems.
Maintains and updates network computer systems; installs software upgrades and enhancements; documents work performed.
Assist in the research and implementation of systems upgrades.
Travel to outlying villages as required
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of Borough policies and procedures.
Knowledge of principals and capabilities of computer systems, including networked environments and peripheral devices.
Knowledge of commonly used Information Services concepts, practices and procedures
Knowledge of Local Area Network principles.
Knowledge of hardware and software troubleshooting techniques.
Skill in using basic tools, equipment and procedures for repairing computers and peripheral devices.
Data processing experience.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Education, Experience, Certifications and Licenses Required
High school graduate or G.E.D/or, a combination of 12 years of education and related work experience.
Three years of computer experience, including one year of computer hardware and software work experience;
Three years experience in a customer service environment;
Ability to pass Security Clearance with the State of Alaska Department of Public Safety Information Network (APSIN) and National Crime Information Center (NCIC) within 60 days of hire.
Valid Driver's License from the state the individual is currently residing in and have the ability to obtain a valid Alaska Driver's License that meets North Slope Borough insurance criteria within 30 days of employment.

The Role:
