Position Overview:

As the Landscape Construction Operations Manager, youll be responsible for overseeing daily operations, improving productivity, ensuring project quality, and driving client satisfaction. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, youll work closely with the leadership team to set divisional goals, manage financial performance, and implement strategic initiatives to fuel business growth.

Essential Job Functions:

Operational Leadership:

• Lead daily construction operations to maximize efficiency and profitability.
• Establish and enforce safety policies and procedures to maintain a high-performance, safe work environment.
• Collaborate with the COO and sales team to set and exceed divisional goals and budgets.
• Monitor and analyze monthly Profit and Loss Statements to identify areas for improvement and adjust operations accordingly.
• Develop and execute a 3-Month Look Ahead strategy to forecast staffing and equipment needs.
• Manage production costs and track margins by job type and client, ensuring financial performance targets are met.
• Oversee material purchasing and ensure 90% buyout within 90 days of project awards.
• Drive operational improvements to increase efficiency and profitability.

Team Leadership & Development:

• Build, lead, and mentor a team of Superintendents, Foremen, Project Managers, Engineers, and other key personnel.
• Create a culture of accountability, excellence, and collaboration.
• Foster a positive, results-driven work environment.
• Provide ongoing training and professional development to build team capabilities.

Client & Project Management:

• Oversee project closeouts to achieve zero punch list items before turnover.
• Manage customer relationships and ensure monthly satisfaction survey results of 90% or higher.
• Proactively identify and resolve project issues to keep projects on track.
• Participate in pre-planning meetings to improve field budgets and identify opportunities for improvement.

Financial & Strategic Oversight:

• Monitor COGS (Cost of Goods Sold) and operational overhead to maximize profitability.
• Develop and implement strategies to grow the business and expand market share.
• Ensure consistent accuracy in billing and forecasting.
• Approve and sign off on bids and contracts to ensure favorable terms.

Safety Responsibilities :

• Ensure all operations comply with company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
• Train staff on safety protocols and enforce adherence to safety procedures.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience in landscape construction or a related industry.
• Proven track record of improving operational efficiency and driving profitability.
• Strong leadership and team-building skills.
• Excellent analytical, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills.
• Deep understanding of construction contracts and project scheduling.
• Proficiency in MacOS and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
• High emotional intelligence and ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Bilingual in Spanish is helpful but not required.
• Bachelors degree in horticulture, landscape architecture, construction management, business, or a related field.

Responsible for managing and participating in field operations within their designated division. Coordinates and schedules the use of staff, equipment, and materials to ensure the completion of work within safety guidelines, quality standards, and budget. Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage staff, equipment, materials, and vendors within the established budget to safely accomplish production goals, including snow operations.

• Approve time entry and maintain attendance records.

Qualifications

**POSITION SUMMARY:**
Under limited supervision, the Grounds Maintenance Laborer Lead Worker leads a work team of diverse individuals, prioritizing, assigning and coordinating team activities to maintain landscaped areas, roads, drainage areas and parking lots of assigned facilities on commercial or public facilities. Employees in this position ensure that grounds are maintained in safe and pristine condition. This job class requires practical skill and knowledge of grounds keeping practices, procedures, supplies and equipment and the ability to perform the grounds keeping job functions with attention to knowing and using safe work practices.
**TYPICAL DUTIES:**
1. *Prioritize and assign tasks, including coordination of work schedules to ensure coverage, rebalancing as necessary for special projects and customer satisfaction.
2. *Maintain supplies, stock, and equipment to ensure proper operation and safe condition.
3. *Train and assist workers in performing duties, working alongside them on the same tasks.
4. *Understand and train workers in the safe and proper use of products and equipment to meet quality and safety standards.
5. *Mow grass with walking-type or riding mowers (less than 2000 lbs).
6. *Use a string trimmer in areas inaccessible to mowers.
7. *Pull weeds and maintain flower beds.
8. Use a leaf and/or snow blower.
9. *Manually pick up and properly dispose of trash, leaves, and limbs and provide a clean and neat appearance of the grounds.
10. Trim/prune hedges, shrubs and trees using shears, saws and other hand or power tools.
11. Edge around walks, flower beds, buildings and walls using hedge trimmers, clippers and edging tools to maintain overall appearance of landscape vegetation and grounds.
12. Repair fencing and gates. Install posts for fencing and gates, and remove vegetation from fencing.
13. Plant grass, flowers, trees and shrubs.
14. Monitor equipment used and report any malfunction or other issues.
15. Direct traffic using hand signals or traffic signage.
16. Frequently travel to work sites.
17. May be required to drive company pick-up while towing a trailer.
18. Complete basic paperwork and calculate materials and time.
19. *Monitor progress of tasks and inspect completed work to ensure quality.
20. *Investigate discrepancies and report them to management, recommending improvements to resolve issues.
21. *Maintain a good relationship with workers and customer.
