Job Description
The Utah National Guard is looking to fill multiple positions for a Spanish Language Support Specialist located at the Utah Translation & Analysis Center (UTAC) at Camp Williams and Orem, UT. These are part-time positions with no benefits and may be converted to career service positions at a later date. Flexible working hours Monday through Friday between 5:30 am to 6:00 pm.

Job Description
As a Spanish Language Support Specialist, you will be required to listen to various Spanish language sources to provide precise word processing transcriptions in the Spanish language itself. The transcriptions are translated into English while complying with all legal requirements and reflecting cultural and situational context, sounds, noises, and other influences. You will utilize computer equipment and associated software to receive work assignments and to process the work product. The work product must meet stringent requirements for legal, law enforcement, and security-sensitive applications. Employment is subject to background checks determining an individual's qualification to work with sensitive security information.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for this position:
  • is proficient in the Spanish language.
  • is proficient in the English language.
  • possesses a DoD SECRET security clearance.
Preference
Preference may be given to those who possess the following:
  • T2S2 Transcription/Translation Certification.
  • College degree in Spanish Translation.
  • Spanish language/translation certification from an accredited entity.
  • Proficiency in other languages in addition to Spanish.

Responsibilities
  • Designs proposed output formats and monitors output for information accuracy.
  • Translates spoken and/or written materials from one language to another.
  • Writes or drafts correspondence, reports, documents and/or other written materials.
  • Records and/or transcribes minutes of meetings, hearings, dictation, dialogue, etc., and produces document in draft or final format.

  • Enters data into a computer system and retrieves, corrects, or deletes previously entered data.
Qualifications
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET security clearance.

Description :
This position is for an experienced quality assurance analyst with strong hands-on testing experience to support multi-year, multi-phase project with testing throughout the project lifecycle in close collaboration with the project team. This position will conduct quality assurance (QA) testing as releases are moved to testing environments to ensure application will perform according to user requirements. Collaborates with the project team to identify and implement appropriate improvements and ensures code adheres to organizational standards. This individual should have strong, demonstrated hands-on understanding of quality assurance testing concepts, practices, and procedures. A high degree of professionalism and high-quality customer service are expected.
This position should be able to work independently while taking direction from project leads. A demonstrated ability to take initiative in learning business processes and existing application functionality is a plus. This individual should have strong attention to detail, collaborative mindset, and commitment to teamwork.
The individual in this position will:
- Create, maintain, and update testing documentation to ensure all scenarios and requirements are covered in the testing process.
- Create test scenarios, test plans, test reports, and track the life cycle of defects.
- Have strong, holistic knowledge of the overall quality assurance/testing process.
- Ensure developed solutions perform according to documented user requirements.
- Be familiar with industry standard automation testing suites, including regression testing.
- Demonstrate knowledge and prior use of testing tools and how they interact with applications used for management of bugs, issues, testing, design and development.
- Remain adaptable and flexible when working with multiple clients with varying degrees of knowledge and ability/availability to participate.
- Identify and propose improvements, corrections, or mitigation strategies for risks and opportunities, independently or collaboratively with the team.
- Write SQL queries on SQL Server in order to verify data integrity, validate data manipulation operations, and troubleshoot issues.
- Bring experience with the full software development lifecycle and related project management activities.

The NC SLPH requires the services of a senior Business Analyst role to work with the business and other stakeholders to support the business process analysis.
