Hartwick College is accepting applications on a continuing basis for instructors who are qualified to teach introductory and intermediate courses in French and Spanish. Qualifications include a masters degree or higher in French, Spanish, Applied Linguistics, or a related field. The expectation is for teaching in-person classes. This pool will be utilized on an as-needed basis, should an opportunity arise, and applications submitted will remain active for up to two years.

• Provide consecutive or simultaneous interpretation services in the target language.
• Facilitate communication between clients and Limited English Proficient (LEP) individuals in various settings, including but not limited to medical, legal, educational, and community environments.
• Ensure accuracy, cultural appropriateness, and professionalism during all interactions.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to GLS and industry standards.
• Prepare for assignments by reviewing relevant terminology and client-specific requirements.
• Respond promptly to scheduling requests and provide reliable service.

• Language Proficiency: Native or near-native fluency in English and at least one of the listed target languages.
• Experience: A minimum of 1 year of professional interpreting experience is preferred (experience in medical, legal, or community settings is a plus).
• Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a college degree or specialized interpreter training is a plus.
• Certification: National or state interpreter certification (e.g., CCHI, NBCMI) is highly desirable but not mandatory.
• Skills:
• Strong listening, memory, and note-taking skills.
• Cultural competence and ability to navigate cross-cultural communication effectively.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Technical Requirements: Familiarity with basic technology used in interpretation, such as headsets and virtual platforms (if needed).

The MATLAB Coder Language team is seeking a programming language design and implementation specialist to work on its partial evaluation-based type inference engine. Your contributions will enable the deployment of MATLAB applications across a wide range of devices, from automobiles to spacecrafts. Responsibilities

You will join a small team of engineers who own the partial evaluation-based type inference engine and optimizing compiler used to translate MATLAB programs to low level representations (e.g., C/C++/Cuda/LLVM). You will design, implement and evolve the intermediate representation, type system, and various static analyses of the compiler. You will implement new language features that enable and support the various use-cases of ahead-of-time compilation for MATLAB.

As a compiler engineer, you will have a chance to influence the core design decisions of the compiler architecture. As a language engineer you will help evolve the MATLAB programming language to be more suitable for embedded system development.

As a senior member of the team, you will also:

• interact with external and internal customers to understand their requirements

• create and enhance our software development processes

• A bachelor's degree and 6 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree and 3 years of professional work experience, or a PhD degree, or equivalent experience) is required.

• Familiarity with functional programming languages (e.g.,OCaml/Haskell/Racket) is a plus.
• Familiarity with staged computation and partial evaluation (e.g., Zig, C++ meta-programming) is a strong plus.
• Familiarity with compiler frameworks (LLVM, MLIR) is a plus.

• Monitor live communication and listen to or read foreign language communications lawfully intercepted, and perform immediate verbal summaries, then subsequent written or typed summaries into the English language.
• Transcribe audio/video and written communications to and from source language to English as required.
• Translate from the target to the source language.
• Interpret consecutively or simultaneously to and from source language to English as required.
• Validate by reviewing other's original translation, transcription, or the quality control review of the specified original work in order to attest to the accuracy of the final work.
• Summarize by providing concise and accurate synopsis of oral or written communications.
• Provide reliable, accurate gist's and summaries of intercepted communication to law enforcement officers.
• Attend federal and state legal briefings, known as Title III minimization, prior to the beginning of any new investigation.
• Assist law enforcement officers in the preparation of evidence and investigation summaries for the possibility of federal or state trials.
• Serve as a "fact" witness in federal or state court when subpoenaed to testify.
• Maintain regular communication with the program manager and keep them informed of available hours/days/shifts for upcoming assignments.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the customer or the Program Manager.

• Must be 18 years old or older.
• Hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Be a U.S. citizen or Lawful Permanent Residents who are in the U.S. legally and have legal work status. Only contractor personnel who are U.S. citizens will have access to classified documents.
• Minimum of one (1) year of translation experience in the required language.
• Have demonstrated proficiency in English and the target language as demonstrated through testing. Testing shall have occurred no more than five years before the analytic linguist commencing work:
• Certified or the ability to become certified in listening, speaking, reading, and writing language proficiency in target native language and English.
• Familiarity with Title III specific Intercept Systems is a plus:
• Jatom Systems Incorporated (JSI) VoiceBox Intercept System - A digital communications intercept collection system used by law enforcement agencies to conduct court authorized and other lawful communications intercepts.
• Pen-Link Lincoln Intercept System - A digital communications intercept collection system used by law enforcement agencies to conduct court authorized and other lawful communications intercepts.
• Strong oral communication skills to effectively communicate with law enforcement officials of varying backgrounds.
• Ability to understand slang and colloquial expressions in your native language, and the ability to translate these into English while still conveying the original meaning and context.
• Native fluency in language(s) other than English.
• Excellent command of English with the ability to produce clear and concise written translations, transcriptions, and summaries.
• Proficient in Microsoft office applications and ability to learn to use new software.
• Ability to type a minimum of 40 words per minute (WPM).
• Familiarity with a variety of media storage including cassettes, videos, and digital media.
• Ability to work well under pressure to meet specific deadlines.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.

• Experience as a linguist in support of defense, intelligence, or law enforcement agencies.
• Federal law enforcement clearance.
• Flexibility to support assignments on short notice.
• Availability for multiple shifts to include weekends.
