MISSION:
The mission as the Lead Doctor is to support the medical team to keep your VEG medically excellent.
OBJECTIVES:
1. Are experts on the VEG way and all of the VEG Spikes.
2. Coach and develop fellow doctors.
3. Support medical processes and initiatives with the support of the Medical Director.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Medical Excellence Mentorship:
- Coach fellow doctors on medical excellence and doctoring the VEG Way.
- Coach fellow doctors on providing all three dimensions of the customer experience.
- Support fellow doctors through their assigned growth and development plans.
- Initiate team huddles and provide motivational encouragement to the team.
- Recognize your people for small medical & cultural wins.
- Show appreciation for consistent performance of the VEG spikes.
- Establish a rapport with all staff to maintain VEG culture.
- Promote a culture of inclusivity and equitable treatment ensuring an environment free of discrimination and harassment for all VEGgies and customers. Be a steward in promoting awareness and proactively managing unconscious bias.
Medical Processes and Initiatives:
- Execute patient safety initiatives as determined by local leadership.
- Provide basic Cubex maintenance and cycle counts.
- Create doctor schedules to include managing leave requests and posting the schedule at least two months in advance.
- Assist MD when coverage is needed due to callouts or schedule changes.
- Address customer complaints related to medical concerns.
Medical Strategy:
- Work as interim MD as needed when MD is on leave or opening a new VEG hospital.
- Lead monthly doctor meetings and M&M rounds, with support from the MD.
- Support MD strategy for doctor recruitment marketing, sourcing, candidate experience, and succession planning across the hospital.
- Consistently educates full staff on needs of individual rDVMs.
- Continually encourages staff to perfect the VEG Spikes.
- Depending on the hospital needs and level of experience, may own the NERD training program if a teaching hospital, perform all NERD MD job duties (Goal setting, written feedback on assignments, 1:1 monthly coaching, engage entire doctor team in training).

WHAT YOU NEED:
- Have earned a DVM, VMD, or equivalent degree.
- A minimum of 2-3 years of ER experience.
- 1 year leadership experience preferred, but not required.
- Flexible to work a combination of clinical and administrative shifts depending on hospital needs.
- Top-tier customer satisfaction and hospital revenue production while at VEG.
- Trained in emergency surgery/endoscopy, preferred but not required.
- Extensive experience with managing critical cases.

Summary/Objective
Primary job responsibilities include supervision, training, and management of clinical staff providing behavioral health services through outpatient behavioral health programs at Boundless. Behavioral health services may be provided in a variety of settings including outpatient, community based, center based, or residentially based. Working with clients, parents/guardians, clinical staff, other departments, and community partners, the Clinical Lead facilitates access to care and addresses barriers. This role is responsible for providing training, oversight, and day to day support to clinicians, as well as clinical supervision to interns and qualified behavioral health specialists. This position is responsible for ensuring that the emotional and social needs of the clients are met and maintained on an individual basis in accordance with policies and procedures, and current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. This position reports to the Administrator and works closely with all other departments. This is a full-time, salaried position.
Essential Functions

- Ensure customized and integrated care across assessment and treatment services by collaborating various departments including psychiatry, center-based, residential, day services, and ancillary care services to help clients achieve the best outcomes at home, school, and in the community.

- Aid in the professional development, training, and supervision of Behavior Technicians/Qualified Behavioral Health Specialists and support the day-to-day operations of the treatment team.
- Applies advanced knowledge and consistently exercises autonomy, discretion, and judgment in development of assessments and interventions.
- Provide clinical services to individuals based on scope and clinical training, including diagnostic assessments, psychological evaluations, therapy, crisis support, and case management.
- Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings with other professional staff; assesses, develops, implements, evaluates, and modifies social histories, summaries, and the individual treatment plan.
- Completes mandatory reports and documentation within timelines established and in compliance with company policies and with applicable local, state, and federal standards.
- Mediates issues that arise among clients, families, and staff.
- Helps clients and families identify needs and develop a service plan to meet those needs. Involves clients and families in treatment planning, encouraging their attendance at care conferences or with outside providers/professionals.
- Orients clients and families to the program, its services, its service limitations, and clients’ rights.
- Provides linkage with appropriate community resources by maintaining knowledge of other systems, making referrals, and identifying unmet needs (e.g., recreational transportation, adaptive phone equipment, etc.).
- Provides clients and families with crisis management services as needed; provides clinical supervision and guidance to staff providing crisis management services.
- Develops a comprehensive discharge plan in collaboration with clients, clients’ families, multidisciplinary staff, and referral agencies.
- Educates staff about any relevant state legislation or regulations relating to behavioral health services.
- Works closely with intake department and other Boundless teams to promote quality care, coordination of care, and integration of clinical services.

Education, Skills, Experience and Requirements
- Master’s degree in social work, counseling, or PhD in psychology
- Licensed through the State of Ohio as a LSW, LPC, MFT, or license eligible in the State of Ohio.
- 2-3 years of behavioral health experience working directly with individuals.
- Must be able to function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, staff, and support agencies.
- Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, emotionally upset, and at times hostile clients/family members.

Education:
- Required professional licensure/certification AND 1 year of cumulative job specific experience required.
Previous RN experience required, RN Charge experience preferred.
