**Summary**
The Ent Center for the Arts (ECFA) Audio Engineer manages audio production across the center's multiple venues and serves as the lead engineer for select events. This role supports the ECFA Production Manager by coordinating personnel and equipment, maintaining audio systems, and ensuring high-quality sound for performances and events. Acting as a key liaison, the Audio Engineer
collaborates with artists, touring technicians, event clients, contractors, faculty, and staff to meet production needs. Additionally, this position provides training for production personnel, upholds workplace safety, and oversees emergency response protocols. Their expertise ensures the seamless execution of events and the long-term care of audio equipment.
**Essential Functions**
The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
+ Oversee Audio and Video Production for Events - Lead all aspects of live audio and video production, ensuring high-quality sound and visual experiences for performances, academic events, and external rentals.
+ Manage and Supervise Production Crew - Direct and oversee production staff in the setup,operation, and breakdown of audio and video equipment while ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
+ Maintain and Troubleshoot AV Systems - Perform regular maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on venue-wide AV systems, including performance halls, classrooms, and the recording studio.
+ Provide Technical Expertise to Clients - Advise faculty, staff, artists, and touring productions on AV capabilities, ensuring technical needs align with venue resources and artistic goals
+ Assess Technical Needs, Budgets, and Feasibility - Assist in evaluating event technical riders, determining feasibility, sourcing equipment, and managing budget requirements for performances and rentals.
+ Ensure Safety and Compliance - Enforce safety guidelines, conduct risk assessments, and implement emergency procedures to ensure a secure and compliant production environment.
+ Support VAPA Recording Studio- Advise and collaborate with the Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) department on best practices for studio equipment setup and sound recording.
+ Collaborate on Long-Term Technical Planning - Work with leadership to research, recommend, and implement AV technology improvements that enhance the Ent Center's production capabilities.

**Qualifications**
+ To be considered for this role, you must have professional experience in sound engineering or live production mixing, including proficiency with large-format audio mixers and a strong working knowledge of both digital and analog audio interfaces.
+ The ideal candidate will have experience in audiovisual equipment operation, support, and troubleshooting.
+ A highly qualified candidate will have experience supervising production crews.
+ Expertise with Yamaha CL5 and CL3 consoles is highly desirable.
+ Experience with QLab is preferred.
+ Familiarity with Creston A/V systems and programming is preferred.
+ Dante Level 3 certification is a plus.

The candidate will develop new algorithms on top of existing techniques and systems for speech enhancement, acoustic echo cancellation and noise suppression, from handsfree voice call in vehicle with multiple distributed microphones across the car-cabin, zonal voice call, In Car Communication to voice control of the vehicle infotainment by voice commands. We are seeking candidates with technical excellence in some of the following areas: advanced signal processing techniques, multi-rate signal processing, adaptive beamforming and distributed microphone-based signal processing for tracking and speech enhancement, equalization of speech rendering in the car-cabin with directional cues. Candidates with the creativity and initiative to apply their technical knowledge to exciting new technologies for automotive audio infotainment applications. This position will investigate in advancing the audio algorithms for automotive voice and audio infotainment features with other team members.
The candidate will also develop new algorithms on top of existing deep learning-based techniques and systems for speech enhancement, acoustic echo cancellation and noise suppression, from handsfree voice call, zonal voice call, voice control by voice commands, keyword spotting, audio context/scene detection. Source separation and fully supervised speaker diarization. We are seeking candidates with technical excellence in deep learning techniques with extensive knowledge of CNNs, RNNs, Auto Encoders and more for the above-mentioned audio/voice technologies.
**Responsibilities:**
The selected candidate will have responsibilities in one or more of the following areas:
+ Development of advanced signal processing algorithms to further the state-of-the-art audio infotainment features in a vehicle.
+ Maintain, tune and develop the algorithms for handsfree phone calls in car-cabin.
+ Conduct state of the art research in speech enhancement using multiple linear and distributed microphone arrays.
+ Distributed microphone-based signal processing to identify the number and directionality of the desired talkers.
+ Well versed with multi-rate signal processing and adaptive signal processing.
+ Ability to proto-type and demonstrate the research ideas.
+ File patents on novel research ideas that further our product line.
**Minimum Qualifications:**
+ M.S. in Electrical Engineering, with emphasis on adaptive signal processing, speech enhancement and other audio related areas.
+ Familiar with C/C++ based fixed point programming.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Exceptional team player.
+ Excellent communication and organizational skills.
+ Experienced in using tools like adobe audition etc in analyzing audio artifacts.
+ Ability to work without micromanagement and be able to drive his/her research ideas targeting the problems we plan to solve together.
+ Proven record of publications in IEEE and other Scholarly conferences and journals.
+ Proficient in Mat-lab based programming for algorithm development and proto-typing.

The Audio and Media Technologies (AMT) is looking for a senior software engineer to join our team to work on AirPlay Audio. **Minimum Qualifications**

+ Experience with using and developing media libraries especially for mobile platforms

The Audio (A1) works directly with the partners of WBD and Techwood Studios to determine the technical and artistic audio needs of live game and/or studio broadcast productions. **LIVE/TAPED PRODUCTIONS**
+ Responsible for building specific show set ups, operating audio consoles and operating/managing associated technical equipment in an Audio Control Room and/or Live Location environment during live game and/or studio broadcast productions.
+ Direct Audio Assist (A2) during set up of any technical/creative needs prior and during live game and/or studio broadcast productions.
+ Collaborate with Technical Director, Audio Assist (A2) and Floor Director for the technical fax to verify all audio signals are routed correctly and making it to their final destinations.
+ During a live game and/or studio broadcast production, actively track, monitor, and adjust audio levels, timing, phases, etc. as needed for all talent microphones, video and music playback as well as incoming external feeds (NBATV Arena Link/Satellite/Bonded Cellular/Etc.)
**COLLABORATION & COMMUNICATION**
+ Work closely with the Senior Audio Technical Specialist, Technical Operations and Production (BEST) Engineering to identify, troubleshoot and solve technical problems Live Location, ACRs and Studio productions. Making sure each problem is resolved to completion.
+ Collaborates with Senior Audio Technical Specialist, Production (BEST) Engineering, Technical Operations and Production Management to identify and special order any equipment needed for live game and/or studio broadcast productions.
**PLANNING RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Creates documentation on audio console builds and proper routes of audio signals bi-directionally for each broadcast production
**Qualifications & Experiences:**
+ 4 - 6 years of network level broadcast production experience operating as an Audio (A1) for live game, live remote and/or live studio multi-talent productions
+ Knowledgeable of current industry standards
+ Knowledge of audio signal flow and audio router operations
+ Knowledge of intercom operation and editing software
+ Knowledge of studio wiring as it pertains to audio signals
+ Knowledge of radio frequency setup and troubleshooting
+ Must be able to technically operate various models of audio consoles, digital audio devices and other ancillary equipment
+ Must have strong leadership skills as well as excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner
