**Job Duties**
+ Communicate daily with Service Customer Care, Dispatcher, and Field Service Manager to determine work schedule.
+ Train, motivate, and monitor job performance of Field Service Technicians, including while at customer locations. Inspect repairs and scheduled maintenance. Ensure safety practices. Review paperwork and timecards.
+ Confer with customers and communicate issues to branch management. Maintain good customer relations.
+ Travel to customer locations to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair lift trucks.
+ Perform operator training or train the trainer at customer locations.

**Minimum Qualifications**

This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines across various vehicles and equipment. As a Lead Technician, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:
+ Manage transit vehicle maintenance in compliance with company standards and policies
+ Manage the shift technicians, assign work and parts distribution,
+ Document all aspects of work orders to the assigned transit vehicles and related mechanical equipment.
+ Ensure accurate upgrades and/or modifications to coach systems, road calls, and on-the-road repairs, as needed.
+ Coach and monitor members of the work team.
+ Other duties as required.
Requirements:
+ A high school diploma, GED or equivalent
+ Minimum of 3 years' experience managing a shop and team
+ Commercial Driving License (CDL) with passenger and airbrake endorsements
+ Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams and schematics.
+ Knowledge of Cummins In-Site program and functions
+ In-depth computer knowledge and the ability to scan and diagnose trouble codes
+ Excellent communication skills
+ ASE Certification. If uncertified, you will be required to obtain ASE certifications within 24 months.
+ Knowledge of WABCO, Pro-Heat Systems, Thermo-King systems, I/O Control Modules and Functions
+ Ability to work with operations for successful vehicle pull outs, interpret safety documents, blueprints, schematics, and other mechanical diagrams.
+ Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.

+ Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions-100% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations.
+ Sit for extended periods (up to 6-8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces

**Duties & Responsibilities:**
+ Diagnoses malfunctions and performs vehicle repairs (e.g. adjust/test steering, electrical, cooling, lubricating, braking systems, drive trains, suspensions, power steering units, clutches, transmissions and oil, temperature, gas regulating components, adjust/test/rebuild engines etc.) and related assigned duties within qualification level, in accordance with all relevant Federal, State/Provincial and local guidelines and requirements. Test-drives vehicles to ensure repair resolved the problem.
+ Arranges for and obtains appropriate inspections and approval of all major repairs before vehicle is released from maintenance facility.

+ Identifies and reports any additional maintenance and/or repairs found necessary in conducting assigned repairs and maintenance including repairs and maintenance required to be performed by Technicians with a higher qualification level.

+ Advises Maintenance Supervisor of unsafe maintenance conditions or practices and/or vehicle abuse.
