Lead, UX Designer
Job Description:
THE ROLE:
Our site in
Billerica / Bedford, MA
is seeking a hybrid
Lead, UX Designer
to join our team. This person will work on a newly formed team that is helping shape the future of digital tools and platforms at Entegris.
You'll work directly with highly technical and operationally savvy partners — engineers, scientists, operations leader, business leaders — to design intuitive, effective experiences that improve complex operational workflows, support R&D innovation efforts, empowering users throughout the ecosystem, from the shop floor to executives, to do their best work.
This is a hands-on, highly autonomous role for someone who brings strong product thinking, thrives in complexity, and is excited to help build a new design practice from the ground up.
As part of a newly forming Human-Centered Design practice, this role offers the unique opportunity to help shape how design and research integrate into our organization. You'll play an active part in establishing ways of working, lightweight processes, and best practices that enable high-impact outcomes within a lean, fast-moving environment. This is an ideal role for someone excited to help build not just great solutions — but a great design and research culture from the ground up.
Applicants should provide a sample of portfolio of past work.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Contribute to digital business transformation initiatives through hands-on product design work.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, scientists, operations and business leaders to design effective digital tools.
- Support operational workflows and emerging AI-enabled tools with user-centered solutions.
- Help establish a new design practice by defining ways of working, processes, and best practices.
- Create end-to-end design artifacts, wireframes, prototypes, and journey maps.
WHAT WE SEEK:
- A systems thinker who understands complex ecosystems and designs purposeful, efficient solutions.
- A collaborative partner who builds trusted relationships across functions and helps teams learn how to successfully engage and work with design.
- A self-starter who brings clarity to ambiguity and moves work forward confidently.
- A team member who is:
- A nimble and outcome-focused partner, able to deliver meaningful impact while helping shape and mature our design capability.
- Someone who is equally comfortable applying strong visual design skills where they add the most value and working efficiently within low-code UI kits and established frameworks when speed and simplicity are the priority.
- A practiced designer who cares more about creating clear, effective experiences than achieving pixel-perfect design, and you know when to dial design craft up or down based on business needs.
- An excellent communicator who can simplify complexity and tell compelling stories through design.
- Energized by working at the intersection of AI, advanced technology, and human-centered design.
- Excited to help shape how design integrates into a fast-evolving, high-growth digital organization.
- Excited to play an active role in establishing and evolving our human-centered design practice, helping define how we work and grow as a team.
- Interested in contributing to lightweight processes and tools that make design and research accessible and actionable across the organization.
Outstanding Candidates Will Have:
- 7+ years of UX design experience, with a portfolio showcasing complex workflows, systems thinking, and enterprise-grade solutions.
Enterprise & Domain Expertise
- Experience designing for enterprise tools and operational workflows.
- Familiarity with dashboard design and tools used in manufacturing or supply chain contexts.
- Industry experience in manufacturing and supply chain is a strong bonus; B2B life sciences, pharmaceutical, medical device, and biotechnology sectors also considered.
AI & Emerging Technologies
- Experience designing for AI-driven platforms, including systems that incorporate automation, feedback loops, or agent-based UX.
- Familiarity with platforms like Google Cloud's AI suite or comparable technologies.
Design Craft & Tools
- Highly proficient in Figma for wireframing, prototyping, and design system management.
- Strong expertise in journey mapping, service design, and simplifying complex or technical processes.
Collaboration & Communication
- Comfortable working directly with engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders throughout the design process.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills; able to clearly present design decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
