At Mathnasium of Center City, we're more than just tutors - we are math educators who build confidence, independence, and deep understanding in our students.
Why Work with Us:
This is not a short-term tutoring gig - it's an opportunity to grow into a well-trained math educator and make a real impact on students' lives. At Mathnasium, we invest months into training our instructors in the Mathnasium Method , which helps students move from counting on their fingers to thinking numerically and mentally. This takes commitment, patience, and consistency - not just for one semester, but over the long term.
We set ourselves apart by providing our Math Learning Center Assistants with:
- Experience in education, outreach, and media that helps build a strong resume.
- Ongoing, paid training in the Mathnasium Method and instructional techniques
- A positive, team-oriented culture built around fun and growth
- Consistent and flexible part-time hours after school ( Mon - Thurs) and Saturday
- Opportunities for professional development
- All necessary curriculum and instructional tools
The ideal candidate will not only provide exceptional math instruction but also help foster a vibrant learning environment by engaging students through in-center events, school outreach, and help us create fun for social media . Check out our social channels. This includes announcing our monthly raffle winners, helping with game nights, and actively supporting our center's community. You'll receive 3-6+ months of training and mentorship in both instruction and operations. Ideal candidates are coachable, committed, enthusiastic about student engagement, and ready to work as part of a team to help students think, not just memorize.

- Official in-person interview for one hour with written questions
This Role Might Not Be the Best Fit If:
- You're only available for a single semester and not looking for a longer-term opportunity

- You're not open to learning and using a specific method of math instruction
- You're not the high-five type-we love celebrating wins, big and small!
- You're uncomfortable projecting your voice so students can clearly hear and engage with you

Mathnasium locations are independently owned and operated by franchisees of Mathnasium Center Licensing, LLC ("Mathnasium"). Franchisees are independent business people and not employed by Mathnasium.
