Job Description
+ Promotes blended learning solutions and the use of innovative technology and tools to meet business goals of developing a high-performing workforce. Produces web-enabled e-learning, traditional educational materials, or a blended solution using leading-edge technology.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Uses advanced technologies to design/develop/deploy e-learning solutions via web applications. Produces high-quality online learning modules that interface with a learning management system. Creates content and applies design/graphic principles to educational materials for traditional learning and/or blended solutions.
+ Designs and updates e-learning using unique combinations of cutting-edge interactive media, state-of-the-art techniques, electronic tools and systems. Evaluate and revise materials based on the effectiveness of training programs and curriculum.
+ Test, problem-solves, updates and maintains e-learning, traditional and/or blended learning solutions. Works closely with support staff and customer to ensure working functionality between e-learning materials, learning management systems, and intranet or internet sites. Work with Technical Support Staff to troubleshoot computer and software issues.
+ Assists with the design of needs assessments, the development of processes, and the evaluation of program effectiveness. Creates data management tools to assist in the continuous improvement of training products and services.
+ Performs duties that may include customer conference calls, planning meetings, action items, professional development seminars, tasks related to certification, training others and/or special projects.
+ Assume project management responsibilities for both internal and external clients/customers, related to e-learning training program design, development, and deliverables.
**Skills:** Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational, time management, prioritization, conceptual and planning skills. Ability to work on several projects simultaneously both independently and with groups. Intermediate knowledge of needs assessment techniques. General knowledge of methods for reporting statistics. Ability to work continually and effectively under stringent pressure including constant and numerous deadlines and company and contract ambiguities. Knowledge of media production, communication and dissemination techniques and methods including alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral and visual media. Required Software and Other Tools: Knowledge of eLearning application tools such as Lectora, Articulate, Adobe eLearning Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud, HTML, SQL, JavaScript, Visual Basic, Question mark, Captivate, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator or related tools. Video and audio editing experience a plus. Knowledge of processors, electronic equipment, computer hardware and software, including applications and programming. Knowledge of national standard for web development and online learning (SCORM/AICC) or other evolving e-learning standards. Knowledge of 508 compliance a plus. Preferred Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of Section 508 requirements for appropriate areas. Preferred Software and Other Tools: Ability to edit audio/video files for consistency. Your primary responsibility is to create great learning experiences via e-learning modules.
Key job responsibilities
- Identify learning needs mapped to business outcomes by partnering with business leaders, subject matter experts (SMEs), and other key stakeholders.
- Determine, recommend, and document performance objectives, project instructional standards, learner engagement strategies, and evaluation plan based on the business and learner needs.
- Design solutions including different modalities such as classroom learning including activities, interactive eLearning, simulations, case studies, etc.
- Develop course content including, but not limited to, measurable performance objectives, scenarios, simulations, audio scripts, progress checks, performance evaluations, reference glossaries, and assessments.
- Gather, develop, and write content based on interviews with stakeholders and SMEs.
- Develop course material in tools such as Storyline, Rise, etc.
- Revise and rewrite course content based on data illustrating ROI or efficacy of learning modules.
- Manage learning content/updates residing on SharePoint or other content management systems.
- Upload, test and maintain content to an LMS.
- May work with vendors for larger programs to review the tooling and learning deliverables being created.
A day in the life
Adhering to the core principles of adult learning, we create learning materials that are engaging and interactive for learners to increase knowledge retention and recall. Our goal is to build comprehensive and data-driven learning interventions and assessments that will produce robust insights to inform development activities. We work with Operations, Business, Program & Training Delivery teams to identify scope of training through a standardized job-analysis process to support investigators/associates through their lifecycle. We use modalities such as instructor-led, blended, and independent learning to build quality learning experiences and periodically evaluate them to assess effectiveness.
About the team
The Learning Experience Design (LXD) team includes Learning Experience Designers (LXDs), who will provide learners with e-learning modules for self-directed learning and instructor led training sessions.
Basic Qualifications
- 2+ years of design experience
- Have an available online portfolio
- Experience working with a variety of design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
- Experience in prototyping
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of user-centered design methodologies, usability principles, web-based information architecture and design
- Experience working in a collaborative team and working directly with developers for implementation of designs
