Our health system has four acute care hospitals and two specialty hospitals that together house 1,812 hospital beds.
Lee Physician Group Has 2 Positions Available:
- GI Hospitalist: Full time physician board eligible/board certified in Internal Medicine and fellowship trained in Gastroenterology to join their busy 10 physician and 4 advanced provider practice. Candidates for this position will be interested in inpatient general gastroenterology and doing GI procedures such as Bravo Capsule Endoscopy, EGDs, and Colonoscopies. ERCPs are preferred. This position is 7 on 7 off and covers consults for the Lee Health system.
- Hybrid Inpatient/Outpatient GI: Physician board eligible/board certified in Internal Medicine and fellowship trained in Gastroenterology to join their busy 7 physicians and 4 advanced provider practice. Candidates for this position will be interested in EGD, Colonoscopy, ERCP and biliary diseases, Inflammatory bowel diseases, Barrett's esophagus, Liver biopsy, Esophageal Manometry, Bravo Capsule and Video Capsule. This position is a traditional office setting M-F. Call schedule is one to two days per week back up call 8:00 AM 5:00 PM, rotated amongst the Outpatient GI physicians. The GI department has GI Hospitalists that cover the new patient admissions and consults in the Hospitals in a 7 on and 7 off rotation.

This position will work 7 days on and 7 days off inpatient with opportunity for additional work in outpatient on off weeks. Candidates for this position will be interested in doing general neurology and acute stroke care. No stroke call.

Gulf Coast Medical Center is a 699 bed acute care facility that is centrally located in Fort Myers FL. Gulf Coast Medical Center houses the Neuroscience Institute, orthopedic services, and general surgery. The hospital offers 24/7 access to emergency care and minimally invasive catheter procedures to treat stroke, as well as a dedicated neuroscience intensive care unit. GCMC is a certified Comprehensive Stroke Center with 2 certified Primary Stroke Centers at Cape Coral Hospital and Lee Memorial Hospital. GCMCs census is split between 1 or 2 other neurohospitalists plus a team of 3-5 APPs. 10-15 new consults per day with 5-8 follow-ups. Average daily census for the entire service line is approx. 30-50 patients.
Lee Health has the areas only Level II Trauma Center and DNV Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center. Lee Memorial Hospital is a 362 bed Level II Trauma Center serving Lee County and the surrounding areas, 24/7 ER with exceptionally trained staff, and houses the Rehabilitation Hospital. Lee Memorial typically averages 4-8 new consults per day with maybe 3-4 follow-ups depending on how one manages their lists. LPG Neurology is seeking a full time physician board eligible/board certified in neurology to join their busy practice. Candidates with fellowship training in epilepsy and movement disorder are highly preferred. The practice has outpatient clinics at Plantation by Gulf Coast Medical Center and works collaboratively with the Neurohospitalist program to provide high quality care for the community.Candidates for this position will be required to do bread and butter neurology for the majority of their practices but may also have some opportunities to specialize.
