An auto consumer warranty firm based in Century City is seeking a law clerk to join their team. This role is a great opportunity for a JD or LLM who is seeking to gain litigation experience. This is a contract-to-hire role that starts immediately.
Responsibilities
+ Provide day-to-day litigation support for a high volume of consumer warranty matters.
+ Support attorneys and law clerks in drafting legal documents.
+ Assists with the discovery process, including reviewing documents, organizing evidence, and preparing discovery responses.

The Position: The Law Clerk is primarily responsible for assisting the legal team in real estate transactions, contract reviews, policy research and updates, and other legal matters related to property management and development. A successful Law Clerk will focus on learning how our organization runs, updating our Corporate Governance, and performing various research projects.


This is a part-time, temporary position working 10 hours per week, September - January.


The compensation rate for this position is $20.00/hr, based on multiple factors including candidate education, skills, experience, and location.


Responsibilities & Duties

  • Understand standards of property management including Fair Housing laws, Tenant/Landlord rights, and general real estate principles.
  • Organize and maintain legal files and documentation.
  • Assist in correspondence with external counsel, governmental agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Research and form company-wide policies relating to employment, record retention, etc.
  • Research, make recommendations, and update Tailwind Group’s corporate governance for all legal entities and LLCs.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service during each encounter with residents, prospects, vendors, officials, and community members.
  • Provide general administrative support to the legal team as assigned.
  • Shadow and support with due diligence efforts for real estate acquisitions and development projects.
  • Monitor regulatory compliance related to housing laws and local ordinances.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Associate General Counsel.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Must be a 2nd or 3rd year student currently enrolled in an accredited law program.

The Law Clerk position is a great opportunity for recent law school graduates seeking to gain practical, hands-on experience applying your knowledge to assist with high profile cases being investigated and litigated by the Department of Justice. This opportunity will also enhance your knowledge and understanding of the litigation life cycle as you assist with investigations from discovery through trial and appeal.
**Responsibilities:**
As a Law Clerk, you will work as a part of a high-performing team where you will be able to hone your analytical and research skills by engaging in intensive document reviews to identify relevant documents and to conduct legal and factual research to build case. In addition:
+ You will gain invaluable experience utilizing electronic discovery tools and work in databases such as Relativity, conducting searches and identifying factually relevant and privileged data to support assigned investigations.
+ Perform complex legal research for the trial staff.
+ Assists in preparing draft legal documents, such as motions, briefs, memoranda of law, etc.
+ Review documents for relevance and privilege; and assisting attorneys with all phases of litigation.

**Qualifications:**
_Required:_
+ Requires Law degree, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school, having completed at least one year of study or, an equivalent level of legal training or experience or an equivalent level of education may be substituted.
+ Requires sound working knowledge of federal and state court systems, legal research procedures, and legal research resources.
+ Requires excellent written and oral communication skills and thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw.
+ Must have hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, databases (such as document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, and imaging.

The Litigation Support Team at Leidos currently supporting the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) in Washington, DC has an opening for a **Law Clerk II** to perform litigation support duties via said role. Typical assignments may include the following but not limited to:
+ Works under the direction of a Supervisory Paralegal or Project Manager performing complex legal research;

**Basic Qualifications:**

+ **Additionally, must have 2+ years of progressively more responsible experience on litigation support projects or task order related projects including proven capabilities and communication skills to successfully interact with clients and attorneys.**

+ Thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw.
+ Must have hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, databases (such as document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, and imaging.

+ Excellent analytical skills.
+ Ability to consistently deliver highest quality work under extreme pressure will be very important.
+ Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Experience working in a Government and/or Litigation Support environment in conjunction with basic qualifications, preferred.
+ Experience with Relativity, helpful and should be referenced within resume, if applicable.
+ Trial experience very helpful.
+ Experience with (or an interest in) informal adjudications under an agency's enabling act and regulations.
+ Experience handling large volume of cases or claims, strongly preferred.
+ Current or active clearance.

Amentum is seeking a Law Clerk I to support legal research on sensitive cases with the Dept of Justice Civil Division. This position works under the direction of a Supervisory Paralegal and/or Project Manager principally performing document review and related tasks. This will include first-level review of documents, issue coding, privilege coding, keyword searching, as well as daily and weekly status reports, along with Relativity assignments.
