About the role

As Senior AI Solutions Director, you will be accountable for the successful delivery of cutting-edge Enterprise AI solutions within our Energy (Oil & Gas) portfolio, overseeing all aspects of the project lifecycle from conception to execution.

This critical leadership role requires the orchestration of multi-disciplinary teams, including data scientists, data engineers, software engineers, product managers and designers to deliver high-quality results that meet client needs. You will manage timelines, resources, budgets, and project quality to ensure not only client satisfaction but also the creation of innovative, scalable solutions that position our company as a market leader in the energy sector.

In addition to delivery, you will play a key role in supporting the Industry Managing Director (MD) by contributing to the growth of new and existing client accounts. You will help develop and pitch new, innovative AI propositions, collaborate with cross-functional teams to scope enterprise AI projects, and position the company for sustained growth through strategic upselling and business development.
Specific Responsibilities
  • End-to-End Project Leadership : Lead and oversee the full delivery of AI programs, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of quality, timeliness, and client value. Your role will involve managing technical project teams, driving resource efficiency, and ensuring that all initiatives align with our clients' strategic, business, and regulatory goals in the energy sector.
  • Strategic Industry Contribution : Collaborate with the MD and CPO to craft new AI propositions that position us at the forefront of technological innovation within Oil & Gas. You'll identify key opportunities for AI solutions and products that add measurable value to client businesses, ensuring both business outcomes and regulatory compliance are achieved.
  • Client Engagement & Satisfaction : Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders within client organizations in the energy industry, driving high satisfaction (CSAT) scores and ensuring that client accounts are primed for future growth and upselling. Act as a strategic technical advisor to clients, providing insights that help them unlock the full potential of AI.
  • Business Development : Partner with the MD and BDD's to pursue and win new business, presenting compelling AI solutions that address client challenges in the energy value chain. Assist with scoping projects, developing proposals, and securing new logos while contributing to account growth and expansion.
  • Innovation & Technical Excellence : Drive continuous improvement and innovation within the AI service line by fostering a culture of creativity and technical excellence. Lead the development of proofs of concept (POCs) that demonstrate our industry-leading capabilities, supporting wider product development and deployment initiatives.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration : Work closely with internal teams to design and implement pricing strategies, develop scalable AI products, and support go-to-market initiatives. Additionally, collaborate with the marketing team to create impactful presentations that elevate the brand's presence in the industry.
Requirements
  • PhD in Petroleum Engineering or a related technical field.
  • A minimum of 10+ years of technical experience as a data scientist or in a relevant technical field with a strong understanding of software development, IT, and data engineering principles.
  • Proven leadership experience managing and scaling highly technical teams within the Energy (Oil & Gas) sector.
  • Demonstrated success in building and nurturing senior-level client relationships, with a track record of delivering AI projects that achieve tangible business outcomes.
  • Experience in dynamic, high-growth environments, including new ventures or scaling businesses, is highly advantageous

+ **Solution Design:** Support the business development in concept definition by energy system simulations & realize the functional concept of solutions in a project by technical detailed solution.
+ Design and engineer the solution down to detail to satisfy the specified requirements of the customer.
+ Define the products, components and systems to be used and their specific characteristics.
+ Configure the components and systems of the solution according to the project requirements.
+ Develop detailed solutions for the integration to ensure the interaction of the individual elements as a functioning unit.
+ Responsible for the realization of the solution with the required functionality and prepares the design documentation.
+ May direct the executing units (e.g. manufacturing, procurement, logistics).

What Will You Be Doing?

Client Delivery
  • Lead and support IFS EAM Implementations in a Solution Architect capacity Configure and implement IFS modules (EAM, SCM) for energy and utilities clients.
  • Acts as or supports the Project Manager in developing project plans, milestones, estimates, and structure on large engagements.
  • Customize and Configure Solutions. Develop lobbies, workflows, reports, and integrations using IFS tools, ensuring seamless functionality.
  • Drive Project Success by working closely with developers, project managers, and business SMEs to ensure projects are completed on time and within scope.
  • Mentor and collaborate with team members to foster growth, share expertise, and build a strong practice.
Practice Development
  • Contribute to the Energy & Utilities practice by developing methodologies, service offerings, and driving best practices into the organization.
  • Promote thought leadership in IFS Cloud solutions and emerging technologies through partnerships, go-to-market offerings, strategy, design, and implementation.
Business Development
  • Understand business needs and requirements, helping turn client goals into concrete projects and detailed proposals.
  • Contribute to the business development process as an IFS subject matter expert, creating work plans, pricing estimates, and risk assessments for prospects.
  • Build and maintain a professional network and affiliate network in the utilities community.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent experience. Advanced degrees (e.g., Master's in Business, Engineering, or Management Information Systems) are a plus but not required.
  • At least 8 years of work experience, including 3+ years in EAM implementation projects. 2+ years of hands-on experience with IFS Applications or IFS Cloud.
  • Proven success in at least one full-cycle implementation of IFS (design through go-live).
  • Previous experience within the Energy & Utilities industry preferred.
  • Deep understanding of IFS modules (EAM and SCM).
  • Experience with IFS Developer Studio, IEE, Aurena client, and Lifecycle Experience tools.
  • Ability to set up company structures, workflows, permissions, integrations, and reports using Quick Reports, Lobby configuration, IALs, and BI tools.
  • Knowledge of custom events, projections, APIs, and integration via REST/ODATA.
  • Familiarity with IFS Cloud environment setup and lifecycle management.
  • Certifications such as IFS EAM Specialist, IFS Developer/Technical Consultant, or Project Management (e.g., PMP, Prince2, Agile/Scrum) are a plus but not required.
  • Demonstrated expertise within Business Process Optimization (BPO) and Organizational Change Management (OCM) functional areas.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results under tight deadlines.
  • Proven leadership and mentoring capabilities.
  • A commitment to fostering an inclusive environment and openness to new ideas and perspectives.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to client sites as needed, typically up to 75% annually.


Based on pay transparency guidelines, the salary range for this role can vary based on your proximity to one of our West Monroe offices (see table below). Individual salaries are determined by evaluating a variety of factors including geography, experience, skills, education, and internal equity.
