This position will also be required to follow the University Library Faculty Handbook which includes active participation in faculty governance, university service, and creative and scholarly activities. Traditional library duties in library systems or technical services may also be part of this faculty position based on the successful candidates expertise and when needed.

Other Library Faculty Duties:

• Function as a professional librarian with the skills and experience to perform routine library duties or lead a special project for one of the university librarys departments.
• Work creatively, collaboratively, and effectively both as a team member and independently; assist in promoting teamwork among colleagues.
• Organize information, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in an effective and efficient manner.
• Exhibit command of classic information literacy and information technology skills.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Education: An American Library Association (ALA) accredited masters degree in Library Science and an earned doctorate in Library Science or a related field (ABD candidates will be considered).
• Experience: Expertise in contemporary cataloging processes and the technology systems associated with national cataloging standards and networks.
• Experience teaching cataloging and related subjects at the graduate level in an ALA-accredited program for at least two years.
• Knowledge of learning management system platforms for the delivery of asynchronous and synchronous course content and electronic classroom activities (Marshall uses Blackboard Ultra).
• Excellent presentation and written communication skills, and a record of participation in the profession.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Education: Second Masters degree.
• Experience: Experience as a digital technical services librarian in an academic or public library environment.
• Experience working with the American Library Association for initial or reaccreditation of an established MLS program.
• Knowledge of assessment programming relating to MLS curriculum development, the ALA accreditation process, and annual reporting.

The Cedarville University Centennial Library seeks a qualified candidate to serve as a Humanities Librarian. This position is a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure track faculty position within the Universitys Centennial Library reporting to the Director of Library Public Services.

The Humanities Librarian will contribute to the development and delivery of library instruction services, research and information services, and individual research assistance, with special focus on undergraduate humanities majors and faculty.

Position Description:

The Humanities Librarian provides innovative and responsive research support to students and faculty in undergraduate humanities majors and collaborates with faculty to deliver an effective information literacy instruction strategy in the School of Arts and Humanities.

Additionally, the Humanities Librarian shares responsibility for development and delivery of Research Center services and participates in the development and delivery of departmental service at a professional level, ensuring effective implementation of innovative library technology, online tools, and digital services for various audiences.

This position is located in the Digital Content Management Section, Digital Collections Management and Services Division, Digital Services Directorate, Library Services.

The position reports to the Head of the Digital Content Management Section and supervises a team of Digital Collections Specialists and Technicians within a new data processing and quality assurance group.

The section manages digital acquisitions, lifecycle of digital collections, web archiving, and collaborates with other units and external organizations to improve digital workflows and content management practices.

Responsibilities include supervising staff up to GS-13 level, planning work, setting priorities, evaluating performance, and providing feedback. The role involves leading complex projects related to digital content lifecycle management, coordinating tasks, and developing solutions for digital transfer, processing, and management.

The incumbent directs daily operations to ensure efficient digital content ingestion and processing, manages ongoing practices for digital collections access, and advises management on digital content issues.
