Duties

- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients

- Diagnose and treat mental health disorders

- Prescribe and manage medication regimens

- Provide psychotherapy and counseling to individuals, families, and groups

- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive treatment plans

- Monitor and evaluate patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary

- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions and treatment options

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical documentation

Qualifications

- Master's degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)

- Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner

- Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)

- Experience working in a hospital or clinical setting, preferably in psychiatric/mental health

- Proficiency in using electronic medical record systems, such as Athenahealth

- Strong knowledge of psychiatric medications and their indications, side effects, and interactions

- Ability to perform basic medical procedures, such as suturing and physical examinations

- Familiarity with case management principles and practices

- Knowledge of occupational health regulations and practices

- Basic life support certification (BLS)

- Experience with coding for billing purposes is a plus

- Ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities
