Our Mental Health Technicians support our high risk mental health patients. Our highest priority for these patients is safety and delivering a therapeutic environment.
Successful candidates will have a passion for working in behavioral health, demonstrating empathy, compassionate caring, and a high level of emotional intelligence, providing one on one support to patients.
This is a FT 36hrs/week rotating night shift position. The shifts will rotate from 7p-7a and include overnights, weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities
As a Mental Health Tech working on the adolescent psych unit you are a member of an interdisciplinary team providing
continuous care and supervision of patients to ensure a safe and secure environment.
* Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, assists with routine patient care activities including: assisting patient with activities of daily living, obtaining clinical data (vital signs, height and weight, collecting specimens) and performing point of care.
* Assists in maintaining a clean and safe work environment by keeping the hallways clear of excess equipment, emptying linen bags etc.
* Assists visitors and answer telephones.
* Follows and participates in patient’s plan of care.
* Assists with the management of aggressive patients.
* Assists in monitoring and/or care of patients who require close observation (suicidal/elopement risks, patients in restraints and/or seclusion).
* Collaborates with multidisciplinary team to establish goals and restrictions of privileges based on the patients behavior and level of care.
