- Serve as a primary resource for students and alumni preparing for licensure in their chosen profession
- Provide personalized advising sessions to develop individual licensure plans
- Interpret state and national licensure requirements and communicate updates effectively
- Participate in student interviews for entry and re-entry into the program
- Organize weekly tutorial sessions and follow-up tutorials to assist graduates with creation, tracking, and completion of remediation plans

The Specialist will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for state licensure processes while assisting with external audit coordination, internal compliance audits, and documentation management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage licensure applications for ABA providers from submission through issuance
- Track filing fees, monitor associated costs, and report on turnaround times (TATs)
- Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for licensure processes across all states
- Conduct proactive internal audits of clinician session notes and required documentation to ensure compliance with payer/funder standards
- Assist with payer/funder audits, including audit requests, patient record requests, and compliance audit request tracking
- Maintain organized documentation of licensure, audit activities, and compliance requirements
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely communication and workflow efficiency
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- 2+ years of experience in healthcare credentialing, compliance, or payer enrollment (ABA/behavioral health experience preferred)
- Knowledge of state licensure processes and payer/funder audit requirements
- Familiarity with compliance programs such as Fraud, Waste, and Abuse (FWA) and HIPAA
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and ability to learn internal systems quickly

The Professional Licensure Bureau (PLB) provides services to educators to assist them in obtaining and maintaining their New Mexico (NM) Educator Certification. This position for the Public Education Department (PED) will assist in the management of a credential system to ensure that state statues and licensure rules relative to recruitment, assignment and licensure in New Mexico are appropriately implemented; while ensuring the highest confidentiality is maintained at all times. pursuing licensure via an alternative pathway.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Recruitment
- Attend university recruitment events;
- Provide follow-up with potential applicants to ensure Wilson County Schools is well represented and positively promoted;
- Work with supervisors/principals on the placement of certified employees;
- Post and maintain all certified vacancies via PowerSchool for access by the system website;
- Monitor applications, receive requests to hire from principals, vet prospective hires, and complete the onboarding process for certified hires;
- Review certified applications as needed by the applicant and/or administrator;
- Register and/or perform all necessary pre-employment checks for certified employees and obtain approval by the Deputy Director, as needed;
- Register and maintain records within E-Verify;
- Send information on newly hired personnel to the State;
- Assist in maintaining up-to-date job descriptions for certified employees;
- Verify salary placement for new hires and work with the payroll department to ensure accuracy; and
- Process hiring and transfer requests from PowerSchool system and into the MUNIS database.
- Assist certified employees with licensure issues and questions, including initial licensure, advancement, and renewals;
- Prepare and submit requests for waivers, permits, and practitioner licenses in a timely manner;
- Verify, document, and maintain a database of previous experience for certified personnel (i.e., out-of-state, private school experience).
- Provide HR support and customer service to employees.
- Develop a wide variety of written materials (e.g., forms, outlines of procedures, etc.) for documenting activities, providing written reference, and conveying information;
- Create and maintain workflow for the application software (PowerSchool) to best suit the needs of the department and system users (certified staff only);
- Post and maintain all certified transactions on the vacancies lists and in position control;
- Maintain a database of employees and all pertinent information to run needed queries and reports;
- Maintain personnel records for current certified employees (i.e., scanning documents into LaserFiche as needed); and
- Enter employment actions in MUNIS for all certified employees (i.e, new hires, name changes, resignations, retirements, transfers, salary changes, and leave of absences) and complete all required steps to process the actions.
- Prepare communications for personnel actions (i.e., data sheets, letters);
- Review and edit the Certified Employee Handbook in collaboration with the Human Resources Supervisor for Certified Personnel;
- Maintain knowledge of current Tennessee laws on licensure and tenure issues;
- Work in collaboration with the Human Resources Supervisor for Certified Personnel in determining teachers eligible for tenure;
- Comply with federal, State, and local legal requirements by following policies and procedures;
- Maintain and adhere to a calendar of deadlines;
- Correspond with principals and universities as necessary to complete HR tasks; and
- Provide support for the Human Resources Supervisor for Certified Personnel.
- Assist with planning and preparation of Human Resources events, including career fairs and new teacher orientation.

**Work Location: The majority of teacher supervision occurs in-person.** Due to specific location and programming, some alternative teacher candidates, however, may require hybrid or remote supervision.
**Summary:**
The College of Education ( at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) will establish and maintain a pool of **Faculty Mentors** in the **Department of Teaching and Learning** from which future appointments of temporary, non-tenure track positions for supervising alternative teacher licensure candidates may be drawn. Appointments are part-time (less than 50% time) and will be made semester-by-semester, per ACT scheduling. Faculty Mentor appointments are not eligible for group health and life insurance benefits or vacation leave accrual. Temporary Faculty Mentor appointments will accrue sick leave.
Qualified applicants will be placed in the department pool and will be considered for part-time departmental needs to mentor alternative licensure candidates in Elementary Education, Secondary Education, and K-12 education in the Department of Teaching & Learning.
**Essential Functions:**
The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
+ Conduct formal and informal lesson observations in-person or via video observation tool (GoReact) to evaluate, provide feedback to, and set goals with candidates
+ Assess candidates' work submitted in an assessment database (lesson plans, lesson reflections, video analysis assignments, critical reflections, etc.)
+ Complete dispositional assessments for candidates
+ Complete a summative evaluation of each candidate's performance at the end of each Act
+ Score candidates' summative program portfolios
+ Enter documentation into an assessment database
+ Conduct regular communication with school site personnel to address concerns, provide information about school policies and programs, clarify expectations, and discuss candidates' growth and needs
+ Meet with each candidate individually once or more per month
+ Facilitate monthly Professional Learning Community (PLC) meetings with candidates
+ Provide responsive mentoring, advice, and coaching to candidates in a timely manner
+ Attend monthly meetings for UCCS Faculty Mentors
**The faculty mentor will be available from July 1 to June 30 to be present for all three ACTs listed below** .
