JOB SUMMARY

The Fire & Life Safety Technician is responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, repairing, and installing electronic fire alarm systems and related building system products at customer sites. This role ensures high-quality customer service while maintaining safety, compliance, and operational excellence across various fire and life safety systems.



Key Responsibilities

• Receive service calls from the Service Resource Center, diagnose problems, and perform repairs on equipment and building systems.
• Service, troubleshoot, and install multiple manufacturers’ Fire & Life Safety systems, including SimplexGrinnell.
• Follow prescribed troubleshooting procedures and reference technical manuals, schematics, bulletins, and operational product guides.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems, and operational product manuals.
• Provide excellent customer service by maintaining consistent communication with district staff and customers; obtain customer signatures upon service completion.
• Complete service acknowledgments with proper coding using communication devices such as smartphones and laptops.
• Participate in scheduled on-call rotation and assist in mentoring or training other team members.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in electronics, fire, or life safety systems preferred.
• Hands-on experience with installation, troubleshooting, and repair of fire alarm systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, blueprints, and diagrams.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to use smart devices or laptops for service documentation.
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotations.

**Responsibilities:**

**About The Role:**
Develops and implements fire safety and related programs for the property. Directs the day-to-day operation of all security and life safety functions. Trains building personnel as well as tenants regarding fire evacuation and emergency procedures.

+ Develop and implement fire safety and related programs for the property. Determine program requirements and the equipment, resources, roles and responsibilities needed to maximize life and property protection.

+ Staff and monitor lobby fire command station. Train and deploy security/fire safety personnel in a manner which maximizes the protection of life and property.
+ Serve as liaison with suppliers, contractors and public safety officers regarding performance of alarm systems, ancillary equipment and compliance concerns.
+ Periodically test fire alarm system and all ancillary equipment as required by applicable regulations. Maintain logs of such tests and reports all deficiencies to property manager. Supervise testing of all fire extinguishers in base building areas.
+ Revise and maintain all assignments of Fire Safety personnel and associated logs. Prepare and update fire safety team charts. Post all floor fire safety team information as required by law.
+ Establish and maintain emergency procedures and logs in coordination with property and engineering management teams.
+ Coordinate implementation of Fire Brigade Program with property and engineering management teams.
+ Coordinate testing of fire alarm, standpipe and sprinkler systems with property management and building occupants.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.

We are looking or a **Fire/Life Safety Operations Supervisor** to join our team. This pivotal leadership role involves directing a team focused on the comprehensive lifecycle of fire/life safety system projects, from initial planning through to final commissioning. The successful candidate will be instrumental in achieving significant financial objectives, specifically managing revenue and gross margin to meet ambitious targets, including an annual revenue goal of at least $7 million. This financial stewardship will be accomplished through diligent control of job costs and the efficient, on-time execution of all projects. Beyond financial oversight, the position demands a strong technical leader who will provide essential expertise, strategic direction, and ultimate accountability for all installed projects and ongoing technical support programs, ensuring high-quality delivery and operational excellence.
**As a Fire/Life Safety Operations Supervisor, you will:**
+ Promote and ensure implementation of productivity tools, standards, and best practices.
+ Hire, supervise, train, and mentor the team through goal setting, performance monitoring, employee review meetings, and scheduling of formal training. 
+ Manage revenue, gross margin, and absorption to achieve monthly and annual business plan projections and forecasts. 
+ Direct and supervise the development of project plans to monitor and control the progress in the execution of work. 
+ Ensure schedules are maintained and projects proceed in accordance with the contract documents and customer expectations. 
+ Plan and justify manpower, staffing requirements, tools, and other appropriate investments for effective and timely execution of work. 
+ Provide technical and operational support for the sales teams with pricing and scope-of-work definition for project opportunities.   
+ Maintain relationships between engineering, operations, and sales teams so project details, changes, and plan discrepancies can be managed to minimize cost and delays throughout the estimating, bidding and operations phases of each project. 
+ Support project productivity and profitability through cost-containment procedures and process. 
+ Review customer feedback and ensure high customer satisfaction.
+ Perform installation activities where/when required.

+ High school diploma or state-recognized GED
+ 5+ years of experience as a team supervisor or project manager within the fire/life safety construction industry
+ Verbal and written communication skills in English
+ Must be 21 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations

+ Bachelor's degree in related field

**As a Fire** **/Life Safety** **Inspector, you will:**  
+ Follow and maintain high structured inspection schedules providing inspection, testing, and performing minor service and deficiency repairs for fire alarm and sprinkler equipment to comply with NFPA72 standards as well as state and local codes. Note deficiencies, remedies, and review pricing with customers. Complete service ticket documentation before leaving the customer site. Follow-up on corrective actions
+ Maintain complete and accurate documentation of all tests performed. Generate reports within Siemens tools and upload to city municipality websites 
+ Provide instructions to customer personnel regarding proper operation and routine inspections. Assist with training 
+ Work overtime when needed, and maintain stock, tools, and equipment in vehicles 
+ Adhere to local, corporate, and OSHA safety policies and procedures 
+ Complete required training and certifications within the time requirements for this role 
+ Provide inspection, testing, and service for wet, dry, pre-action and deluge fire sprinkler systems; backflow preventers; water tanks; fire hydrants; foam-based systems; water mist systems; and fire pumps per NFPA 25 standards 
+ Complete required documentation including deficiency repair recommendations. Discuss noted deficiencies, remedies, and pricing with customers and follow up on corrective actions 
+ Provide subject matter expertise to peers
