Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be working for the National Accounts department within M.C. Dean. You will be responsible for electrical lighting maintenance scope which will include changing bulbs, ballasts, and drivers on existing lighting fixtures. You will be working from aerial lifts in most cases and be a direct interface with our customers. You will be dispatched daily to customers and be responsible for resolving the customers lighting problems in the highest professional and safe manner. You will complete all site documentation on an electronic device which will require knowledge of current smart phone / personal tablet technology. + Assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining electrical or electronic lighting components.
+ Installing and mounting lighting controls, devices, sensors, and components.

+ Testing lighting systems and continuity of circuits in fixtures, using testing devices.
+ Inspecting installation sites and studying work orders, building plans, and installation manuals in order to determine materials requirements and installation procedures.
+ Diagnosing malfunctioning lighting systems and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
+ Reading contract drawings.
+ Trouble shooting EMS systems, smart breakers, and relays.

- Properly maintaining all company property provided to perform jobs.
- Interacting in a professional and respectful manner with coworkers and customers.
- Participating in weekly safety meetings.
- Completing all company required safety training programs.
- Assisting in training new and current employees.
The core components of success are (i.e. must haves):
- A High School diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of related experience and/or training
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

- Execute on all technical aspects of a production. Work with lead technicians and PAV production managers interfacing directly with equipment, stagehands, and contract labor for events to ensure proper implementation of good and services through the production process.
- Serve as a technician in variety of roles and disciplines.
- Work with a PAV Production Manager and/or PAV Lead Technician to implement the technical aspects of a show related to assigned role, set up, and operate related AV equipment.
- Attend site checks as required
- Assist and perform maintenance and repairs of equipment as needed.
- Execute on the timeline for production to ensure event planning stays on schedule
- Works within the lighting and rigging department of the warehouse Prepping equipment for events, de-prepping equipment that has been returned, and ensuring lighting equipment is in good clean working order.
- Work with Project Managers, TD, and other event staff for efficient Run of Show
- Maintain working knowledge of lighting Fixtures, Consoles, control and power systems.
- Responsible for ensuring proper and safe setup of lighting equipment on event sites, and work with project managers and clients to ensure the lighting for the event meets the needs and vision.
- Work with Facility Event Managers or PAV CAD tech to understand the detailed drawings of event per client specifications.
- Excellent customer service skills, applied to external and internal customers equally.
- Must be organized, attentive to detail, persistent and demonstrate the ability to follow through projects to completion.
- Capable of handling multiple assignments and meeting deadlines.
- Capable of working with all levels of show management under minimal supervision.

Through its Conservatory for undergraduate and graduate studies and the Preparatory, Baltimore's largest community performing arts school, Peabody empowers musicians and dancers from diverse backgrounds to create and perform at the highest level.
The Stage and Lighting Technician will be responsible for independently managing the production of events and concerts and supporting the day-to-day operation of the production area. The Stage and Lighting Technician will support over 1,000 yearly events, including master classes, rehearsals, performances (music, opera theater and dance), and student recitals. As a member of the team, the Stage and Lighting Technician will contribute to all aspects of the Institute's production activities, with primary duties focused on lighting coordination and stage management of acoustic large ensembles across both the Conservatory and Preparatory.
The Peabody Stage and Lighting Technician acts as a liaison among the various individuals involved in a production, including the conductor, artistic directors, musicians, dancers, technical department, and the concert and ensembles team to maintain a safe, healthy, and inclusive workplace always.
**Specific Duties & Responsibilities**
+ Independently manage acoustic large ensembles including all setups, group rehearsals and final performances.
+ Work with other technicians, primarily on lighting load-ins, strikes, and implementation of guest lighting designers.
+ Design lighting for small dance, opera, jazz, and MfNM events as needed.
+ Assist the other Technicians, as necessary. That may include audio/visual setups, stage setups, and weekday management of concerts and events.

**Special Knowledge, Skills & Abilities**
+ Demonstrated skills and experience with theatrical/event lighting setup, installation, and design.
+ Basic knowledge of live audio and video production.

+ Experience in and working knowledge of theatrical events and terminology, especially in regards to dance, opera, and orchestra.
