Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Critical Care Float Pool

About the Role:

Hospital is seeking an experienced Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Float Pool for a 13-week travel assignment. This role offers the opportunity to work in a Level I Trauma Center while floating between ICU and PCU units. Nurses must be flexible, highly skilled, and ready to provide exceptional patient care in diverse critical care settings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct nursing care to patients in ICU and PCU units.
• Float as needed across critical care areas within the hospital.
• Administer medications, perform assessments, and manage treatment plans.
• Monitor patient progress and document accurately in EPIC EMR.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.

Requirements:

• Active Massachusetts RN License
• ASN required; BSN preferred
• 2–5 years of ICU experience required
• Trauma Level I experience preferred (Trauma Level II may be considered)
• EPIC experience required
• Previous travel experience preferred
• Certifications: BLS & ACLS
• No local candidates (must live 50+ miles away)

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Nurse Manager is a registered nurse who functions as a patient care provider, supervisor and clinical resource for staff. She/he implements management and clinical activities. Coordinates clinical activities to ensure that the nursing process is operationalized utilizing Standards of Care/Standards of Practice. Primary responsibilities include ensuring the provision of patient care consistent with department/hospital and regulatory standards.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited baccalaureate nursing program (BSN) preferred
• Certificates/Licenses Required: Current Massachusetts RN license, BLS, ACLS, TCARR certifications required
• Experience: Minimum of three to five years clinical experience required. Charge nurse or supervisory experience is preferred
• Knowledge + Skills: Analytical abilities necessary to organize, supervise and evaluate the work of others, to develop, interpret, implement, and evaluate policies, procedures and standards. Work requires effective communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills. Effective verbal and written multilingual skill (beyond that of English) in languages appropriate to the patient populations served by the Hospital. Proficiency with standard software programs used in healthcare (such as MS Word, Outlook) and web browsers, patient registration systems and electronic medical record.
