**Position Summary:** The Auburn University Department of Political Science seeks to hire a tenure-track assistant professor to support its undergraduate and graduate public administration offerings starting August 16, 2026. Advanced assistant professors may also be considered. The appointment is a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track position.
**Position Responsibilities:** Candidates must be able to offer courses in public administration in person and online at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Candidates should be broadly trained in public administration and/or public policy. We seek individuals who can contribute extensively to theNASPAA -accreditedMPA program's core curriculum offerings and our Ph.D. and undergraduate public administration programs. The standard teaching load is two courses per semester for at least the first three years of appointment.
The successful candidate will have an active research agenda and the ability to teach courses in local government administration. We seek candidates who can also contribute teaching and/or research capabilities in some combination of the following areas: ethics, environmental policy and management, intergovernmental relations/federalism, in addition to other core areas of public administration that are aligned with the mission and focus of the department's program.
**Minimum Qualifications**
Ph.D. in public administration, public policy, or related field conferred by August 16, 2026. Ability to teach courses in local government administration. The candidate selected for this position must meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States when the appointment begins and to continue working legally for the proposed term of employment; excellent communication skills are required.
**Desired Qualifications**
Candidates with professional experience in the public or nonprofit sectors; experience teaching in-person and online classes; experience teaching public administration courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels; evidence of a record of commitment to student success at the college level through substantial and continued effectiveness in teaching, advising, and other student-related responsibilities are highly desired. Candidates must strongly indicate the ability to achieve future research productivity in appropriate academic journals.

Position Summary:
The School of Public Administration (SPA) at Florida Atlantic University invites applications for a tenured, junior Associate Professor specializing in the field of Public Policy. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, academic-year (9-month) faculty position based in Boca Raton, Florida, that will begin in August 2026. The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in public policy process theory and research, with the area of policy specialization being open. The review of applications will begin on November 3, 2025, and will continue until filled.
We welcome applications from emerging and established policy scholars with expertise in public policy process theories and applications, demonstrated by an active track record of publications in high-impact policy journals. The successful candidate should have evidence of an intellectually rigorous research agenda, seek grant opportunities, and engage fully in university and community service activities. Teaching responsibilities will include introductory courses in public policy and public administration, policy process theories, regulation, and policy implementation. **Position Details**
The City College of New York's Political Science Department and Moynihan Center seek a dynamic, open-rank (tenure-track or tenured) professor who will also serve as the academic director of the College's Master of Public Administration (MPA) program.
City College's MPA program currently has an enrollment of approximately 40 students, a dedicated Program Director who manages day-to-day operations, and a faculty pool of 12 professors. The Academic Director will provide academic leadership and strategic vision for program expansion, working collaboratively with the Program Director and integrating with broader Moynihan Center programming initiatives.

The program provides instruction to graduate students. T he City of La Porte will be hosting an Entrance Exam for Police Cadets on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at 9:00AM at the Jennie Riley Community Center.
Application is required as part of the registration process.
The Physical Agility Test will be conducted the following morning on Thursday, October 30, 2025. If you pass the written exam, you must be available the following day for the second portion of the entrance exam.

The Police Cadet position is an entry-level non-sworn position with the City of La Porte. The best qualified applicants will be brought on as a City employee and sent to an area police academy to receive their state peace officer certification. Cadet applicants will be required to complete the full hiring process for Patrol Officer.
Police Academy: Applicants who are hired as Police Cadets will attend an area police academy full-time which will focus on training in the topics of criminal law, arrest procedures, defensive tactics, firearms, drive training, physical fitness, first aid, investigations, crime scene procedures, and more.
Minimum Requirements: The following are the minimum requirements to be considered for a position as a Police Cadet.

- Must have an valid Texas Driver License
- Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of appointment to Patrol Officer

- Must not have been convicted or a misdemeanor above a Class C within the last 10 years
- Must demonstrate weapons proficiency
- Must pass an oral interview examination and a background check
- Must pass a psychological examination, polygraph examination, physical examination, and a drug screen
- Must pass a physical fitness assessment
POLICE CADET JOB DESCRIPTION:
DEFINITION
Entry-level non-sworn position that attends approved basic peace officer course at a local police academy, and successfully passes TCOLE exam. Upon successfully passing the TCOLE basic peace officer exam the cadet will enter field training and be classified as a Police Officer.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
- Receives general supervision from a Police Sergeant or higher level police manager.
- May exercise indirect supervision over sworn and non-sworn personnel.
Essential Functions may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Maintain all physical and academic standards set by the academy.
- Maintain positive attendance in accordance with the academy attendance policy.
- Report regularly to department recruiting.
- The Cadet will report any changes in their status to department recruiting (background, law enforcement interaction, living situation, etc.).
- Zero conduct and performance deficiencies
- Positive attitude and active engagement in all aspects of training
- Attend all mandatory department meetings and events.
- Must be at least 21 years old at the time of appointment to police officer
- Must possess at least a GED
- Must not have a discharge from military service "under less than honorable conditions"
- Must pass a physical fitness test (15 push-ups in one minute, 20 sit-ups in one minute, 1.5 mile run in 17:15, 300 meter run in 80 seconds)
- Must pass a psychological examination, polygraph examination, physical examination, and a drug screen

- Must demonstrate weapons proficiency
- Must be free from drug dependency or illegal drug use

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Standing, sitting, lying down, kneeling, twisting upper body, climbing, crawling, bending, stretching, walking, running, jumping, carrying, listening, using radios, talking, telephone use, use of computers extensively, qualifying with duty weapons, carrying of a duty weapon and other assigned tools, exposure to all outdoor conditions as well as inclement weather to include but not limited to sun, rain, heat or cold, the possibility of exposure to bio-hazard and hazardous materials, exposure to animals (wild & domestic) and has the ability to take physical control of another person as required and needed.

Overview
The Custodian performs routine cleaning, maintenance, and care of facilities, buildings and offices to ensure a clean and aesthetically pleasing environment.
Essential Functions
1 Operates mechanical sweepers, buffers, and other custodial equipment while sweeping, mopping, dusting, sanitizing, vacuuming, shampooing, buffing, stripping, and waxing floors and facilities; performs work in City buildings, offices, and rest rooms to maintain a clean environment.
2 Collects trash and disposes of waste to keep buildings, offices, rest rooms, and facilities clean; removes debris and trash from walkways, windows, driveways, parking lots, and grounds to ensure premises are kept orderly.
3 Restocks paper supplies and other items in rest rooms and monitors general inventory; communicates supply needs to ensure purchasing occurs in a timely manner.
4 Checks and cleans equipment daily to ensure proper, safe operation; identifies issues that need greater attention, ensures all spaces are in safe and operable condition, and facilitates repairs or other cleaning.
5 Sets up and arranges meeting and conference rooms, dismantles equipment, fixtures, or furnishings to ensure chairs and tables are available as requested by the customer.
6 Checks and inspects areas for hazards and spills to ensure a safe, clean environment; maintains grounds around building by trimming, mowing, and edging.
7 Washes, cleans, and performs general care on City vehicles; occasionally drives City vehicles to make deliveries.
8 Performs any and all other trades work as needed or assigned.
Knowledge and Skills

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

- No class B misdemeanor convictions in the last ten (10) years.
- No family violence convictions.
