Job Description
The Yard/Logistics Assistant supports MDF&E by providing a variety of duties other than just driving loads to and from job sites. This position is a fast-paced position with loads and/or deliveries that can change hourly. This person must keep the ability to adapt to those changes with a positive, team-player attitude. Help to maintain an OSHA compliant yard, while assisting with the organization of stock material, tools, and equipment.
Responsibilities
· Load and unload trucks and trailers using the forklift.
· Strap/chain down loads for trucking.
· Drive loads to and from jobsites using a 1-Ton truck pulling a deck over or skid steer trailer.
· Take directions from the Yard Managers.
· Routinely check and record the working condition of all trucks, trailers, and equipment.
· Go through, organize, and stock jobsite toolboxes.
· Help clean, check, and repair the tools or equipment returning from jobs and put them away in their correct location.
· Assist in cleaning, organizing, and maintaining our 3 yards routinely.
· Process paperwork as required for each job.
· Follow safety procedures and help others to do so as well.
· Keep yard trucks clean inside and out.
· Friday clean-up, all yard crew participates.
· Fill out timecard daily and accurately with thorough notes of what was done during the day.
· Assist in the maintenance and appearance of the office building and yard.
Necessary Skills and Abilities
* Possess a CDL with clean driving record.
* Must be able to do heavy lifting.
* Must possess basic reading, writing and mathematical skills.
* Ability to operate a forklift safely and accurately.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* Accurate, organized, and thorough in all areas of the position.
* Ability to work in a flexible, fast-paced environment, which can include overtime.
* Strong work ethic.
* Knowledge of the construction industry is a plus.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED in addition to 2 years CDL experience and in-depth knowledge of the company and our scope of work in general is a plus.

Position Summary
The Logistics Assistant supports the planning, coordination, and execution of chaplain-led events under the U.S. Army Chief of Chaplains' Building Strong & Ready Teams (BSRT) / Strong Bonds Program . The role focuses on logistical support functions, including venue preparation, transportation, lodging, catering, audiovisual support, childcare coordination, and training material distribution. The Logistics Assistant works closely with Event Managers and Administrative Support staff to ensure all Logistical Support Packages (LSPs) are delivered in compliance with contractual standards and Army regulations.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Event Logistics Coordination
- Assist in securing and preparingmeeting spaces that comply with occupancy, setup, and cost requirements.
- Coordinateaudiovisual support , ensuring functionality throughout events.
- Support childcare vendor compliance by tracking ratios, background checks, and reporting incidents.
- Arrange transportation logistics , including buses, vans, and parking, ensuring timely arrivals and replacements if needed.
- Support lodging and meal coordination , ensuring compliance with per diem limits and safety standards.
On-Site Support
- Assist with registration stations , check-in, and participant inquiries.
- Prepare and distribute training materials, nametags, table tents, agendas, and certificates .
- Provide support for External Presenters and trainers , ensuring readiness and setup of materials.
Compliance & Reporting
- Follow Army safety, childcare, and food-handling regulations .
- Track logistical service delivery to meet Acceptable Quality Levels (AQLs) (e.g., 95-100% compliance across service categories).
- Provide input to Monthly Execution Reports and Receipts of Services to document logistical performance and expenses.
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Active Secret clearance.
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or higher preferred).
- Minimum 2 years of logistics, event support, or hospitality operations experience .
- Familiarity with government or military event support preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to coordinate multiple vendors and logistical elements under tight timelines.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong problem-solving skills for handling on-site logistical challenges.
Professional Standards

- Coordinate and schedule material deliveries and provide guidance to Receiving and Offload crews about procedures for material receipt inspection and inventory, storage and staging, and collection and flow of shipping documentation. Also provide guidance to Field Engineers and Project Administrative Assistants for processing and filing of shipping
- Monitor Equipment Status Reports and work with Project Team and Procurement to mitigate concerns due to schedule deviations of critical path items and contribute proper aspects of material status to Plan of the
- Generate and distribute additional material reports and documentation as requested by Project Team members to support the payment of supplier invoices via Pay
- Assist in the completion of documentation associated with incorporated material as required by the Owner (receiving logs, mill certs, test reports, cut sheets, etc.) for eventual turnover in the Job
