Operation Oversight
  • Oversee daily transportation operations, including Over-the-road, Dedicate service, and last-mile delivery to ensure efficiency and accuracy
  • Communicate with the warehouse team in managing and overseeing all warehouse functions, safety practices, facilities maintenance, and ensuring the smooth
    operation of all activities
  • Monitor Operations KPIs and ensure with good in shape
Team Leadership
  • Establish performance goals for the team to ensure required levels of productivity, inventory precision, quality and organizational objectives
  • Develop and execute long-term operational strategies aligned with organizational
    objectives
  • Develop cross-departmental relationships and collaborate closely with SCM, Compliance, Accounting, and other subsidiaries.
  • Conduct regular team meetings and provide clear communication channels for
    addressing performance feedback
Cost Control
  • Develop and manage the budget, including labor, equipment, supplies, and maintenance costs
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to reduce operational expenses
  • Monitor and control operating costs within budgetary constraints
  • Conduct and lead regular RFP process
Reporting and Data Analysis
  • Generate regular reports on operations performance, including key performance indicators
  • Establish detailed reports on inventory levels, order accuracy and productivity
  • Use data analysis to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement
Continuous Improvement
  • Drive improvement initiatives to enhance logistics efficiency and productivity
  • Improve service quality, such as renegotiating the vendor contracts, streamlining processes, implementing efficient resource allocation strategies
  • Implement ongoing evaluations and changes aligned with industry best practices and technological advancements for equipment, safety, facilities, and systems
Job Qualification
  • Bachelor's Degree or above is preferred: Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Operation Management
  • Proven track record of success in supply chain, transportation, and/or logistics operations, with at least 8 years of managerial experience
  • Prior experience in WMS, TMS. ERP or related systems can be advantageous
  • Experience with OSHA compliance
  • Experience with Property and Casualty claim management will be plus
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.
  • Data Driven
  • In-depth knowledge of logistics regulations, safety standards, and compliance requirements
  • Knowledge in DOT regulation
  • FDA, HACCP regulation or food related compliance
  • Bilingual - Korean and English is preferred
  • Strong Leadership, Interpersonal, and Communication Skills
  • Good Management of Complaints

J ob Title: Shore Support - Interlake Logistics Solutions

Reports To: Operations Manager

Summary

You will be working with the ILS Operations Manager, Lake Michigan Car Ferry and the Interlake Maritime Services Team scheduling vessels and updating customers. In addition, you will be responsible for scheduling crew changes, helping to arrange fueling and other day-to-day administrative duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Updating customers on vessel schedule.
  • Updating vessels on loading locations, cargo destinations, cargo types, delivery of vessel supplies and crew changes.
  • Ensure that personnel and materials are delivered to vessels in a safe and timely manner, utilizing staff and vendors
  • Maintaining an open line of communication with the officers aboard the vessels.
  • Become proficient with the following financial and logistical programs, NS, Veson and Concurs.
  • Assist with Customs and Immigration documentation, when required.
  • Help crew members with licensing and documentation issues.
  • Assist in the hiring process.
  • Work with the ILS Operations Manager to generate budgetary and other types of documents and reports.
  • Drive crew and material to vessel and docks.
  • Help maintain a positive work environment.
Qualifications

Required Licenses, Documents Education, Abilities and/or Experience
  • A valid driver license with the ability to obtain a chauffeur's endorsement.
  • Ability to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Card) Card.
  • A high school education or equivalent is required.
  • Must be able to communicate and correlate data to a spreadsheet form.
  • The ability to pass a drug test.
  • The ability to handle packages of at least 40lbs
  • The ability to travel if required.
  • Current and valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.


Work Schedule

You will typically work 40 hours a week, in a five-day work week, potentially more hours if circumstances require. The workday will begin around 8:00AM and end between 4:00pm and 5:00PM with some flexibility. Some weekend and overtime work will be required.

Work Environment

You will spend most of your time in the ILS office, occasionally going to a loading or unloading sight and/or customer location. Customers are typically quarries, mines, docks, steel mills, power plants, cement plants or other assorted industrial sights. At times you could potentially experience noise, heavy machinery dust, and other industrial conditions. You may also experience seasonal outdoor weather conditions.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job the employee will be required to sit, use their hands to type, as well as verbally communicate and listen. It may require you to climb ladders when boarding vessels, ascend and descend steep stairs and ladders on vessels, navigate uneven terrain at dock facilities, and occasionally travel.

Position Summary:

As a Parcel Delivery Driver, you will load and unload packages into a 26' DOT box truck at our warehouse in Carteret, NJ.
