**KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Plan and coordinate multiple orders across several customers daily.
+ Set pick up/delivery appointments based on service and schedule requirements.
+ Interface with customer base to facilitate problem resolution and improvement opportunities.
+ Ensure carrier/customer accessorial costs are communicated timely.
+ Monitor carrier performance and recommend routing changes as needed.
+ Evaluate carrier alternatives and tender freight based on cost/service requirements.
**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES)**
+ Bachelor's degree in related field
+ 2 years' shipping or transportation coordination environment experience or relevant certification
+ Thorough knowledge of shipping and transportation operations and familiarity with import and export processes
+ Experience with transportation management software
+ Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with internal and external customers
+ Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to multi-task and prioritize workload
+ Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

We are looking for reliable, detail-oriented individuals with logistics experience who are seeking long-term opportunities. Candidates must have a clean background and strong record of good attendance.

+ Maintain customer profile information and enter loads from customer tenders into systems.
+ Update account managers on problem loads and actions taken; provide status updates to customers and receivers.

**GENERAL SUMMARY AND PURPOSE**
Procures, stores, and distributes pharmaceuticals, diagnostic agents, intravenous solutions and related equipment and supplies for all Saint Joseph Mercy Health System sites. Facilitates the distribution of pharmacy products across all operational units within the SJMHS. Monitors and maintains the pharmacy inventory using accepted industry inventory management techniques, information management systems, and technological enhancements. Responsible for the repackaging of products not commercially available in unit doses or needing a readable bar code. Processes and maintains related documentation as required by licensing, accrediting, and regulatory agencies. This position maintains the hospital formulary in hospital computer systems and bills medications requested by other departments, as necessary. The ILT coordinates the medications and equipment in ALS boxes and represents the hospital at ALS regional meetings.
**SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**
**Education:** High school graduate or GED equivalent. Minimum of one year education in related field, such as general business, computers, or inventory/operations management
**Experience:** Minimum of two years of progressively more responsible work experience as a hospital Pharmacy Technician or related experience including knowledge of the drug distribution process, experienced in drug formulary inventory control and billing processes.
**Licensure:** Current State of Michigan Pharmacy Technician license
**REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES**
Ability to perform basic to advanced mathematical calculations. Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with all levels of Health System staff, manufacturers, and suppliers. Ability to present and perform in a professional manner, which commands respect, demonstrates a high level of competency, and encourages collegiality. General knowledge of computers, software applications, and hardware configurations such as procurement and inventory systems, electronic spreadsheets, data base management software, word processing software, diverse system integration software, and bar code systems and equipment. Ability to stand for long periods of time and/or walk long distances without difficulty. Ability to handle hazardous, flammable, corrosive, anti-neoplastic items, drugs and IV boxes weighing up to 40 pounds, and occasionally moving IV carts weighing up to 1,100 pounds. Ability to function with a high degree of accuracy to complete tasks. Analytical and cognitive skills to evaluate systems logistics and design effective work processes. Organizational skills to manage multiple activities competing for limited time and resources without sacrificing quality, timeliness, and/or completeness.
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**
+ Places purchase orders, receives pharmacy supplies, confirms product integrity, accuracy and expiration dating according to department standards. Collaborates with suppliers to resolve discrepancies or other problems. Restocks in appropriate storage locations. Responsible for the receipt and restock of medication and supplies. Is responsible for managing various ordering platforms for procuring pharmaceuticals.
+ Participates in the establishment of appropriate inventory levels for pharmacy products at all points of service and intermediate storage locations using inventory management techniques. Anticipates and understands the impact of seasonal and/or atypical situations, makes special arrangements to maintain sufficient inventory, and communicates the status to operational staff on a timely basis. Ensures all products are within their expiration date and properly stored in accordance with licensing, regulatory and accrediting requirements.
+ Conducts audits on utilization, purchasing and billing activity, investigates discrepancies, prepares reconciliation reports, and implements changes to continuously improve the accuracy, integrity and control of the purchasing functions.
+ Collaborates with suppliers, customers and colleagues on an ongoing basis to assess product requirements, storage capabilities, special handling procedures, distribution options, utilization trends, safety and environmental issues, security and financial integrity. Sets priorities, designs procurement and distribution work flow processes, measures outcomes, and makes adjustments as necessary to meet our financial and quality objectives. Assumes responsibility for accurate completion of forms and procedures required to meet state and federal controlled substance regulations.
+ Maintains a separate inventory for controlled substances, hazardous chemicals, investigational drugs, expired medications and outpatient oncology. Performs all related documentation and record keeping functions and submits reports as required.
+ Ensures the accurate and timely delivery to end user departments of orders for medications, IV solutions and set, and pharmacy related supplies. Develops and implements plans to enhance customer satisfaction of this function. Facilitates the distribution of pharmacy products across all offsite locations within SJMHS
+ Maintains appropriate stock of medications that have been repackaged and/or bar coded to be useable to the end user. Works in collaboration with the Automation Technician to maintain the software and hardware of pharmacy automation (ex. MedCarousel and Pentapack). Supports the system's bar-coding initiatives.
+ Participates in the training and orientation of new employees.
+ Assumes responsibility for performance of job duties in the safest possible manner, to assure personal safety and that of coworkers, and to report all preventable hazards and unsafe practices immediately to management. Identifies and assists in resolution of problems related to safety, sanitation and maintenance of the environment.
+ Able to perform specific Technician/Team Leader task depending on departmental need and/or current scope of responsibility. (Ex. Oncology, Inpatient and outpatient) Completes unit inspections for assigned areas in a timely manner. Prepares medications under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist.
+ Communicates product related issues to pharmacy staff in a timely and efficient manner.
+ Assist other members of the pharmacy purchasing team as necessary.
+ Demonstrates self-directed learning.
+ Provides quality patient care by considering the age specific, development and cultural needs through competent clinical practice. Demonstrates unit/area competencies.
+ Maybe required to participate in department on-call on a rotational basis as necessary.
+ Assesses the potential for medication error by checking drugs for look-alike packaging, sound-alike names, strength or volume changes, bar code scanning issues, and selects alternatives to avert errors. Strives to obtain drug products containing the amount closest to the dose administered.
+ Ensures expired and recalled drugs are removed from inventory and coordinates their return to the manufacturer, are destroyed or donated.
+ Adds/deletes/updates drugs in PDS, Pyxis, AS400, and the Charge Master; handles requests for drug costs.
+ Completes month-end financial reports related to the inpatient inventory.
+ Coordinates the physical inventory of the inpatient pharmacy.
+ Coordinates and ensures the accuracy of the electronic billing process for medications dispensed through the inpatient pharmacy.
+ Fills, labels, and updates ALS boxes; represents the hospital at the regional ALS committee.

Serves as a Logistics Management Specialist, with responsibility for Developing/coordinating the integrated logistics support plans for the Army portion of one or more major vehicle system programs.
Duties require occasional travel for purposes such as customer support evaluation visits, hand-off activities, and to study particular logistics problems.
Essential Job Functions:
Develops integrated logistics support plans which address all the principal elements of total life-cycle planning for assigned program, including maintenance plans, manpower and personnel, training and training devices, support equipment and TMDE, supply support, technical data, computer resources support, packaging, handling and storage, transportation and transportability. Monitors the logistics support analysis program to assure definition of support criteria and identification of support systems requirements. Monitors program execution to assure accomplishment of objectives and goals in accordance with milestones. Coordinates with technical specialists to develop corrective actions. Recommends approach to resolve procedural problems. Assures that corrective actions are implemented.
Assures availability of logistics support information required to coordinate and develop material fielding plans, fielding agreements with users and other long- and short-range planning documents. Oversees materiel fielding includes total package fielding milestones and requirements. Establishes and implements procedures to oversee and control logistics support including ancillary equipment required to support assigned system(s) before, during, and after deployment.
Oversee development of plans to identify the type, degree and timing of logistics assistance necessary, personnel required at user posts, camps, and stations, establishment of liaison offices, points of contact and methods for identifying and correcting material defect and resolving user problems encountered during and after fielding, both in CONUS and OCONUS.
Develops/coordinates contract scopes of work for logistics support, with maintenance and supply, from concept through production. Performs technical evaluation of contract proposals. Develops independent government cost estimates for all logistic work and secures validation of the estimates through the proper channels.
Serves as a monitor of contractor ILS performance under the terms of contracts; monitors the implementation of the modification work order program by the appropriate Materiel Readiness Commands as set forth in AMC, Army, Marine Corps regulations; directs development of logistics support data for input to materiel release reviews; is the point of contact for Level I or Level II system assessment program and monitors operational readiness trends. Represents the Program Manager at logistics meetings both with industry and with other Government agencies, including higher authority.
Directs participating NICP/NMP managers to take specific actions related to ensuring full support for deployed and/or deploying system/subsystems. Participates in meetings with functional managers representing TACOM Materiel, Maintenance, RD&E, Product Assurance and Procurement activities. Conducts similar efforts with other AMC commodity command managers, either via correspondence, telephone or visits to those commands.
Reviews Army Materiel Planning documents for both overhaul/rebuild and new procurements and/or redistribution of available assets. Monitors all aspects of the major item management including type classification and retype classification actions, basis of issue planning, offering of system assets to Military Assistance Programs and/or Foreign Military Sales candidates, major item distribution planning, and integrated logistics support planning in the area of secondary (Army Stock Funded) items, PAA secondary (repairable)items and major end items as defined in current regulation.
Directs and coordinates logistic support to test operations by establishing procedures that will ensure the support system, as represented by the system support package for test, is available, complete and thoroughly evaluated during contractor tests, government tests, prototype qualification tests, and other test programs. This includes ensuring availability of test vehicles with total logistic support.
Participates in special studies and projects for the PM to resolve critical supply, maintenance, or system sustainment problems requiring Command attention. Analyzes and evaluates the adequacy and effectiveness of the supply system with respect to both logistic and operational readiness. Identifies the cause of existing or potential supply and maintenance problems and recommends appropriate corrective action or preventative measures. Participates in special TACOM multi-Directorate task forces to carry outstudies to precisely identify critical supply and maintenance problems and to effect timely and adequate action to solve problems identified.
Coordinates the development of system information for use in establishing qualitative and quantitative personnel requirements and in the new equipment training problem for assigned system. Participates in the planning and scheduling of the design and acquisition of training devices.
Required Skills:

Must be able to obtain maintain a secret security clearance.
A Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university with at least 12 years experience providing support to engineering organizations or in Programmatic, Financial, or Technical support of the research, development, test, or evaluation complex systems.
Comprehensive knowledge of logistics management concepts, policies, methods and regulatory requirements (especially integrated logistics support), and their application to assigned program(s).
