What we're looking for

- Inbound: Unload trucks, trailers, containers of freight, counting products, compare to manifest to check all shipments for damage, infestation, or production code dates. Material handlers must report shortages, damages, and mis-shipments on appropriate forms. Also be able to sign for inbound shipments when necessary. All inbound shipments are moved safely to storage locations to be efficiently stacked as store merchandise.
- Order Picking: Ensure that the correct product number, quantity and type (lot, batch, serial number) of product are picked. Transport orders to shipping locations or delivery platforms with material handling equipment such as but not limited to fork trucks, cherry pickers, or pallet jacks. Materials handlers must be able to label, stencil, tag, mark orders, band, bundle, wrap, over-pack, and palletize as required.
- Outbound: Compare quantity, labeling and address with order to ensure out-going shipments are complete and correct. Assign signature for outbound as necessary. Efficiently move product, cartons and or pallets into trailers, rail cars or containers.
- Equipment: Maintain equipment in a neat, clean and orderly fashion. Operate equipment safely and efficiently. Comply with company standards and OSHA requirements.
- Inventory: Keep accurate records and reports. Assist in physical inventories and cycle counts. Ensure proper stock rotation. May key inventory adjustments in computer.
- Other Duties: Repack or re-box cases per customer instructions. Repair and consolidate damaged goods as required. Operate shrink-wrap machine. Charge forklift battery as needed; stack and or separate good from bad pallets when necessary; clean railcars, trailers, and truck docks, bays as requested.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Material Handler coordinates and expedites the sourcing, purchasing, and flow/delivery of parts and materials required to manage and operate a Contractor Operated Parts Store (COPARS). Examples of items to be sourced and purchased consist of assemblies, vehicle and equipment parts, supplies, tires, and batteries.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Act as the primary contact for commercial customers, ensure efficient delivery of products (parts-handling), and complete appropriate documentation for record-keeping and compliance (quality according to contract).
- Maintain records and billing for commercial accounts; processes returns and reconciles accounts.
- Procure, inspect, store, maintain, and issue new and remanufactured or rebuilt parts and materials commercially available in a typical automotive parts store and as coordinated by mechanics.
- Provide customer services associated with the provision of a full-service, walk-in and walk-out commercial retail operation, including a TRDI -owned and managed inventory operating out of the COPARS facility.
- Ensure parts, materials and services are made available to authorized Motor Transportation mechanic personnel.
- Schedule and confer with mechanic's supervisors to determine parts or materials required or overdue; locate materials from sources selected by the Parts Specialist.
- Establish delivery sequences for the mechanics according to job order priorities and anticipate availability of parts and materials.
- Arrange for in-house transfer of parts or materials to meet mechanics' schedules.
- Monitor and control movement of material and parts from the moment they are ordered to the time they are delivered to the Marine Corps Base
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- 3+ years of advanced knowledge of automotive parts is required; ASE Certified preferred.
- 2+ years of knowledge and experience that is found in a commercial auto and equipment parts providers.
- 2+ years of using remote-control panel board, compute amount of material needed for specific job orders, applying knowledge of parts and mechanical processes and using computer and software designed to keep track of point of sales, inventory, parts requested and parts ordered and delivered and installed on specific vehicles or equipment.
- Be Customer service oriented, demonstrate high level of integrity; and excellent communication skills.
EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
• High school diploma/GED required.
• An understanding of the needs of the organization serviced.
• Experience performing inventory, shipping/receiving and other duties related to supply procedures.

GENERAL SUMMARY
To ensure safe and efficient movement of product throughout the entire system. Work in the weld, press, and warehouse areas of the facility ensuring timely product/dunnage movement in your area of responsibility. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
A. Report all quality, production or safety problems to the team or group leader. Moves non-conforming material to MRB area.

C. Stage dies as needed for changeovers in the area of responsibility (if applicable) and take to tool room after use.
D. Move material from storage to next designated work areas.
E. Remove dies from & place dies in the press during the changeover process (if applicable).
F. Assist in completing monthly and yearly physical inventories.
G. Unload inbound trailers with empty dunnage and put away in designated locations (if applicable).
H. Ensure all parts, containers (full or empty) are staged and scanned properly to a location in Shop Edge or located in designated container storage areas.
I. Remove labels from all containers.
J. Complete daily tow motor checklist.
K. Perform & maintain 5-S standards in area of responsibility.
L. Suggest methods of improvement, (i.e. continuous improvement plan & performance award program).
M. Available for overtime as required.

**Job Summary:**
The Material Handling Lead is responsible for shipping, receiving, inspecting, and properly storing incoming parts for our equipment to ensure easy accessibility and retrieval in accordance with company policies and procedures. + Minimum of 2 years of prior shipping and/or receiving experience.
+ Valid Driver's License is required.
**Physical Requirements:**
+ Ability to stand most of the workday.
+ Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to lift higher than 50 pounds with additional help (i.e., crane, another person).
+ Ability to walk, sit, use hands or fingers for gripping pressure to carry, lift, push or pull items with machine assistance and operate hand controls for majority of the day.
+ Ability to frequently stoop, kneel, balance on scaffolding, climb stairs and ladders, repeatedly bend, twist while rotating at the waist, reach above their head, place wrist or feet in prolonged positions of flexion or extension and operate foot controls.
+ Ability to work in varying weather and temperatures.
