This person will need to develop relations with domestic and international suppliers.Required: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business Administration. Minimum of 7-10 years of strategic sourcing experience in a manufacturing environment Strong and effective interpersonal verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with employees, suppliers, and customers. Create and execute strategic sourcing plans, policies, and documents for key commodities in alignment with the strategic initiatives of the company. Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to identify and maintain resources needed to establish and provide an effective supply chain. Establishes performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of quality and delivery factors affecting the supply chain. Meet routinely with internal and external suppliers to resolve gaps. Lead supply chain team coordinating engineering changes, product line extension, or new product launches to ensure timely and orderly material and production flow transitions. Provide information and guidance on availability and cost of supplies and materials. Identify and qualify new suppliers in collaboration with other departments. Develop and maintain safety stock levels and forecast of materials and supplies located at the company and at supplier sites. Analyze current inventories and procedures; suggest improvements to increase efficiency of supply chain. Develop policies to increase efficiency throughout the supply chain while ensuring quality and safety; implements subsequent changes to processes. College degree in logistics, supply chain management, or business-related field preferred.
Previous customer service and/or Logistics experience preferred. Knowledge of the Trucking Industry a plus.

Ability to interact and communicate effectively over-the-phone, through e-mail and face to face.
Capacity to recognize when action is necessary and to implement the required actions within a reasonable time.
Aptitude to prioritize workflow in order to use time effectively.

TRAINING
Job training for a unit supply specialist requires 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and eight weeks of Advanced Individual Training with on-the-job instructions. Part of this time is spent in the classroom, and part takes place in the field, including practice in handling and storing stock.

- Procedures for shipping, receiving, storing and issuing stock
