Qualifications:
  • Required:

    • Strong knowledge of domestic and international shipping procedures and regulations.
    • Proficiency in logistics software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
    • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Preferred:
    • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or Logistics.

Our client, a leading international logistics and supply chain management firm with a specialized division for heavy industry, is seeking a meticulous and proactive Mining Logistics Coordinator to join their team in Chicago, Illinois, US .


This role is critical to ensuring the seamless flow of materials, equipment, and finished products for global mining operations. While based in Chicago, this position will be responsible for coordinating complex logistics networks that support mining sites around the world, managing transportation, warehousing, and inventory across various geographical locations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment where precision and timeliness are paramount.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute the transportation of mining equipment, spare parts, raw materials, and finished mineral products globally via various modes (ocean, air, rail, truck).
  • Manage inventory levels at various depots and warehouses, ensuring optimal stock levels to support mining operations and minimize downtime.
  • Negotiate with carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other logistics service providers to secure competitive rates and efficient services.
  • Prepare and process all necessary shipping documentation, including customs declarations, bills of lading, and export/import permits.
  • Track and trace shipments from origin to destination, providing real-time updates to stakeholders and proactively resolving any transit issues.
  • Ensure compliance with all international trade regulations, customs requirements, and hazardous material transportation laws.
  • Collaborate with mining operations teams to forecast demand, schedule deliveries, and optimize logistics routes.
  • Implement and maintain robust inventory management systems and logistics software.
  • Analyze logistics data to identify opportunities for cost savings, efficiency improvements, and risk mitigation.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams, suppliers, and clients to ensure all logistical needs are met.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in logistics coordination, supply chain management, or freight forwarding, preferably within heavy industry or a global context.
  • Strong understanding of international shipping regulations, customs procedures, and incoterms.
  • Proficiency in logistics software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Familiarity with mining operations or industrial materials handling is a significant advantage.
  • Certification in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., CSCP, CTL) is a plus.

**Summary**
The Coordinator - Equipment Logistics is responsible for the processing of inbound and outbound equipment for the purpose of flawless execution of events. This role will be directly responsible for the daily processing and staging of inbound and outbound rental equipment in accordance with procedure(s) to ensure integrity is maintained in our reservations and equipment readiness. This position requires teamwork, communication, and coordination skills.
This position will support our Audio Visual and Event Technology team. The position follows an in-person schedule working full-time in-office and/or show-site based out of McCook, IL.
**Essential Duties & Responsibilities**
+ Process returned equipment in accordance to policies and procedures
+ Sort inbound equipment, including Sub-Rentals and Equipment Transfers
+ Identify, vet and enter lost and missing equipment
+ Prioritize work based on outbound needs
+ Pull, stage and scan outbound equipment in accordance to policies and procedures
+ Maintain records in required systems (i.e. R2)
+ Communicate with Quality Control, Inventory Control and Transportation on order needs, changes and readiness
+ Escalate Missing or Damaged Equipment
+ Escalate space constraints
+ Perform scheduled cycle counts as assigned
+ Support on-site additions in accordance to established policies and procedures
+ Assist in Training/development of warehouse staff
+ Ensure sound safety and risk policies and procedures through all areas of operation
+ Promote teamwork and communication between all warehouse operations
+ Assists other department heads as needed
**Education & Experience**
+ High School Diploma or Equivalent with relevant work experience required
+ Minimum 2 years of related experience within event production and/or warehouse operations
+ 1 year experience with Inventory Management Software preferred
+ Proficient in MS Office suite, Adobe Acrobat, Google Sheets
+ Must maintain a valid state driver's license
+ Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills
+ Must be an innovative problem solver with the ability to deal quickly and effectively with issues

Responsibilities
  • Manage execution of customer orders, coordinating and scheduling pickup and delivery of vehicles while adhering to customer instructions.
  • Ensure efficient order execution by linking multiple orders and overseeing additional services like vehicle detailing, registration, and storage placement.
  • Communicate promptly via email, telephone, and CRM with staff, independent contractors, and delivery contacts, escalating issues to management as necessary.
  • Update CRM activities and notes accurately after each interaction, including uploading photos and scanned documents.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, and adherence to DOT regulations and applicable laws.
  • In manager's absence or through direction, calculate and offer flat fees on orders via email to all independent contractors.

  • Inspect vehicles upon arrival, noting any damage or issues, and take inventory of items left in vehicles.
  • Move vehicles in and out of the lot, ensuring they are secure and ready for pickup by drivers.

Pay and Benefits
