Job Description

The Expeditors International Columbus, OH branch is in immediate need of a Logistics and Supply Chain coordinator with a record of providing excellent customer service. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of ensuring timely and accurate movement of freight and information, while providing exceptional customer service to our wide array of existing customers in the market. The candidate should be enthusiastic and passionate about customer interaction as well as possess the ability to coordinate with other departments in the branch to respond timely and effectively to growing customer needs.
+ Ensure smooth and timely freight process flow meeting customer expectations
+ Ensure accurate and timely data entry into our operational system, per Operational Performance Standards (OPS)
+ Track and Trace Shipment Files daily
+ Scan and validate documents
+ Ensure documents are received and processed timely to keep cargo moving
+ Ensure accurate and timely client and vendor billing, within Expeditors and customer requirements
+ Interact with our customers in arranging their domestic or international shipments, meeting customer service standards and performance measurements
+ Communicate with service providers regularly to ensure timely pickup and delivery of shipments
+ Understand departmental process flows, and contribute to best practice opportunities to improve operational efficiency and productivity
+ Ensure all customers standard operating procedures in place and updated in the DLSOPs. Review and update regularly
+ Meet KPI standards in accordance with the Company's procedures
+ Timely responses to emails and voicemails to exceed customer expectations and satisfaction
+ Escalation of problems to Management when necessary
+ Minimum High School diploma required. Bachelors Degree preferred.
+ 6 months to 1 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
+ Understanding of logistics and supply chain related topics and trends

**Position Summary:**

- Establish and sustain that all supervisors and associates are trained and competent and understand how their work relates to the customers' business objectives

Our client, a leading national distributor of industrial supplies, seeks a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior Logistics and Supply Chain Analyst to join their operations based in Columbus, Ohio, US . This critical role involves optimizing the company's supply chain network, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and improving operational efficiency through data-driven insights. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, expertise in supply chain software, and a comprehensive understanding of logistics, inventory management, and transportation. This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, blending in-office collaboration with remote flexibility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze complex supply chain data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement in areas such as inventory, transportation, and warehousing.
  • Develop and implement strategies to reduce operational costs, improve delivery times, and enhance overall supply chain performance.
  • Design, build, and maintain sophisticated dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to logistics and supply chain operations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (procurement, sales, operations) and external partners (carriers, suppliers) to ensure seamless flow of goods and information.
  • Conduct financial analysis of logistics costs, including freight, warehousing, and inventory carrying costs, to identify savings opportunities.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies or process improvements to enhance supply chain visibility and efficiency.
  • Develop and refine forecasting models for demand planning to optimize inventory levels and reduce stockouts or excess inventory.
  • Support the selection and implementation of new logistics software and systems.
  • Prepare presentations and reports for senior management on supply chain performance and strategic recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry best practices in logistics and supply chain management.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Business Analytics, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in logistics, supply chain analysis, or a similar analytical role.
  • Proven experience with data analysis tools such as Excel (advanced), SQL, Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
  • In-depth knowledge of supply chain principles, inventory management techniques, and transportation modes.
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Transportation Management Systems (TMS) is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and data integrity.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.
