The Operations Supervisor provides direction at a single location, leading staff to ensure customer requirements are achieved while meeting our Penske goals and objectives.
Schedule: Wednesday-Saturday 6:00AM-6:00PM
Supporting: 65 Drivers

Salary: $54,900-$72,700 annually and bonus eligible up to 12% of base salary

Provide operational leadership to individual contributors and hourly workforce to ensure the execution of daily tasks and activities including driver deliveries, loading/unloading of trailers, and customer service operations in a manner consistent with company services and cost objectives. Supervises most processes directly including people, systems, customer needs, equipment, etc.workforce and equipment scheduling. Responsible for performance management of direct reports. making corrective action and disciplinary decisions up to written warning level. Involved in the hiring process and customer meetings as necessary.
**Major Responsibilities:**
People
- Establish and sustain that all supervisors and associates are trained and competent and understand how their work relates to the customers' business objectives
- Establish and sustain that performance standards are communicated that are specific and measurable
- Interview hourly associates and provide recommendations for hire
- Monitor attendance, productivity, and other performance standards and provide coaching and counseling to associates
- Motivate and engage associates by focusing on team accomplishments and recognition
Operations
- Supervise logistics operations including customer service, freight loading and unloading, dispatch and proper documentation and procedure control
- Conduct team meetings
- Evaluate and recommend changes in preferred work methods to increase productivity of dispatch operations. Assist in new associate training
- Provide relief coverage for operational duties when associates utilize time-off or are absent from the shift
- Have a thorough working knowledge of the site's operating systems in order to ensure operational compliance and correct exception resolution
- Complete all necessary records and reports in a timely and accurate fashion
Finance
- Ensure compliance with financial policies & procedures such as tracking MPG, returns, damages, etc.
- Understand the relationship between decision-making and profitability
- Closely manage associates' working hours and activities to minimize overtime and to meet or exceed productivity targets
Safety
- Ensure day-to-day management and associate activities are aligned with the location safety strategy
- Provide associates with communication, training, feedback, and direction to ensure safe performance
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory agencies and company policies and procedures
- Conduct safety observations
Growth / Customer Experience
- Understand the location-specific customer goals & objectives and work to meet and exceed these expectations daily
- Ensure the customer knows that we are committed to helping them meet their objectives

Fleet/Assets
- Properly plan work assignments to ensure effective use of fleet equipment

Requirements

A bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, Distribution Management, or related curriculum preferred.

2-5 years’ experience of logistics planning, transportation, distribution, supply chain, or related experience.

Working knowledge of the motor carrier industry is required.

Knowledge or experience with transportation management systems (TMS).

Computer proficiency with MS Excel and Word, with adaptability to learn new systems quickly.

General knowledge of regulatory requirements, rules, and regulations (DOT, GMP, USDA, OSHA, HACCP).

What You'll Do:
- Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics operations, including transportation, material handling, and warehousing activities.
- Assist in developing and implementing logistics strategies aimed at cost reduction, improved efficiency, and timely delivery.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure accurate stock control, reduce carrying costs, and maintain material availability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth production and material flow throughout the plant.
- Maintain relationships with suppliers, carriers, and third-party logistics partners to negotiate rates, manage contracts, and resolve any logistical challenges.
- Analyze logistics data to identify areas for process improvement and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, regulatory, and company policies and procedures.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices in logistics and supply chain management.
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred (equivalent experience will also be considered).
- Bilingual proficiency in Mandarin and English (verbal and written) is preferred due to international communication.
- 2-4 years of experience in logistics or supply chain operations, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong understanding of logistics processes, including transportation, inventory management, and warehousing.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with logistics software or ERP systems (experience with SAP is a plus).
The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $65k -$100k, plus eligibility for bonus and benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by factors such as the role, level, and geographic location. Actual compensation within the range will be influenced by the specific work location, along with factors such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Compensation range for this role is : $40,000 - $50,000.
As the Specialist, Logistics in Managed Transportation at RXO, your attention to the small details and strong work ethic will ensure our operations continue to run smoothly.
What your day-to-day will look like:
- Schedule, coordinate and monitor drivers and equipment to ensure daily transportation operations run safely, efficiently and on time
- Assist in developing, planning and modifying daily schedules, and notifying customer service and the operations manager about the status of shipments
- Properly monitor shipments for customers to ensure on time, accurate and satisfactory deliveries
- Troubleshoot and proactively resolve shipment discrepancies as needed
- Enter data into the transportation management system, and maintain and generate required reports; properly process, audit and file various documentation
- Communicate with customers, employees and the management team to ensure necessary requirements are met
What you’ll need to excel:
At a minimum, you’ll need:
- 1 year of related experience
- General understanding or knowledge of the transportation industry
- Basic Computer Skills
It’d be great if you also have:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including planned and unplanned overtime, which may include weekends
- Experience in transportation planning
- Knowledge of shipping software (Oracle Transportation Management)
- The capability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal or diagram form

**Supply Chain Shift Coordinator**
This position will be responsible for the deployment of customer orders to the Distribution Center shop floor while utilizing the Warehouse Management System to manage resource capacity to prevent Operations bottlenecks and inbound/outbound delays. This position will also ensure that all customer orders are shipped based on priority without compromising Customer Service Levels.
This position is for Pactiv Evergreen.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Monitors and assesses Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Warehouse Control Systems (WCS) to determine efficiency of workflow.
+ Coordinates the daily workflow with the Shift Leadership Team and Lift Truck personnel.
+ Identifies inefficiencies in workflow between replenishment, picking, put away and shipping; makes wave and labor adjustments as needed.
+ Monitors order queue and ensures balanced labor, equipment, and warehouse work tasks.
+ Awareness of load by time cut-offs to ensure loads are ready to be shipped.
+ Execute daily work plan created by the site Wave Planner and identifies problems that prevent efficient execution of the plan. Resolving and escalating issues appropriately.
+ Plan, release and ensure timely completion of the waves in the warehouse management system.
+ Plan, release and ensures timely completion of the Interleaving tasks in the warehouse management systems.
+ Plan, release and ensure timely completion of cross dock opportunities.
+ Identifies and ensures timely unload of HOT inbound shipments.
+ Identifies and ensures timely completion of consolidation moves.
+ Monitors and ensures timely completion of replenishment moves.
+ Utilize reports to monitor workflow progress.
+ Ensure communication to shift supervision status of wave progress and problems.
+ Update shipping schedules.
+ Monitor and maintain flow of automation traffic control systems within the DC.
+ Coordination of Automatic Guided Vehicle (AGV) tasking and usage to maximize productivity.
+ Maintain Yard and Door trailer statuses.
