Collaboration with internal teams, including procurement, operations, and customer service, as well as external partners, will be crucial for success. Key responsibilities include:
  • Developing and executing comprehensive logistics and transportation strategies to support business objectives.
  • Managing and optimizing inbound and outbound freight operations, including carrier selection, rate negotiation, and performance monitoring.
  • Overseeing warehouse operations, ensuring efficient inventory management, order fulfillment, and space utilization.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with third-party logistics (3PL) providers and carriers.
  • Analyzing logistics data to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve operational efficiency.
  • Implementing and utilizing logistics management software and technologies.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant transportation regulations and customs requirements.
  • Developing and mentoring a team of logistics professionals.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of logistics with other supply chain functions.
  • Developing and managing departmental budgets and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred. A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in logistics and supply chain management, with a strong emphasis on transportation and warehousing. Proven experience in carrier negotiation and management. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong leadership and team management abilities. Proficiency with logistics software and ERP systems. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience with international logistics is a plus.
