The Logistics Manager is responsible for the oversight of multiple spare parts rooms located in staffed and un-staffed Data Centers. The role incorporates analyzation and continuous improvement around effectiveness of work methods, procedures, controls, and staffing. Our Logistics Managers ensure performance plans are set, maintained, continuously improved upon, and difficult problems are met with creative solutions to achieve highly accurate and timely inventory movement throughout our Data Centers.
This position requires that the candidate selected be a US citizen and obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance.
Key job responsibilities
- Manage, coach, and develop Logistics Specialists utilizing available training programs, informal (e.g. on-floor coaching) and formal (e.g. written evaluation) job performance based feedback.
- Generate and communicate highly accurate, accessible inventory metrics reporting to Stakeholders
- Develop and implement consistent metrics to gauge employee performance.
- Train hourly associates in required department processes.
- Creatively resolve problems and make department impacting decisions in a highly ambiguous environment
- Run stock level reports and analyze results; optimize on-hand stock levels in effort to decrease cost-to-serve and increase efficiency of stock holdings.
- Set and monitor inventory levels of stock rooms to ensure that proper stock levels are maintained to support build and repair activities.
- Work closely with the logistics purchasing team to ensure cluster level stock is kept at appropriate levels.
- Design, assess, and implement new strategies and initiatives to continuously exceed Customer expectations.
- Continuous improvement through implementation of LEAN processes

Basic Qualifications
- 5 years of management experience, including administering yearly performance reviews to direct reports and team development and 5+ years in Microsoft Office - Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio
- 3+ years collecting data and reporting against key performance metrics and 3+ years in inventory control and/or Inventory Management Systems (IMS/WMS)

GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE:

The Logistics Specialist is the primary support for all delivered transportation activities throughout the Dole Fresh Vegetable network during designated shift which includes weekend and or nighttime hours. The Logistics Specialist primarily supports track and trace, customer reporting, and collaboration with suppliers on recovery solutions. The role will also provide transportation planning support as needed over the shift.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION:

•Develop relationships with supplier contacts supporting Dole Fresh Vegetables (DFV) to establish expectations of timely communication and solutions as issues arise.

•Track and trace delivered freight through our proprietary Transportation Management System (TMS).

•Communicate late delivery exceptions proactively to internal/external customers.

•Facilitate and coordinate expediting of loads with suppliers to support customer needs.

•Provide daily/weekly performance reports to DFV stakeholders, customer, and suppliers.

•Manage OSDs as they arise to gather required documentation while providing direction to suppliers.

•Support logistics planners and DFV operations with scheduling of pickup and delivery appointments.

•Secure trucking capacity when business needs arise and communicate resolution plans to all key stakeholders.

•Collaborate with the logistics team members through hand-offs at the beginning and end of work shifts to prioritize needed items.

•Prioritize and meet deadlines on other duties and projects as assigned by Logistics leadership.

•All DFV Team Members are required to adhere to all policies, practices, and SOP's related to producing and distributing Safe Quality Food (SQF's).

•All DFV Team Members have the responsibility and authority to report any problems pertaining to food safety and quality to leadership.

•Other duties as assigned

Required Skills

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:

•Minimum of 3 years of experience working within a Supply Chain Operations function.

•Transportation or Supplier Management experience is preferred.

•Previous employment within a fast-paced, consumer packaged goods or fresh supply chain environment preferred.

•Must have demonstrated knowledge of full truckload and less than truckload operations.

•Experience managing multi-modal experience is a plus.

•Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.

•Proven problem solving and resolution skills are required to manage through issues as they arise.

•Ability to work under pressure to deliver timelines with a sense of urgency as required

•Capable of working independently with minimal direction during night shift hours

•Proven track record working within a collaborative, cross-functional team environment

•Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint with demonstrated success working with various business systems

•Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and/or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems a strong plus.

PHYSIC AL REQUIREMENTS:

•While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; talk or hear.

•The employee must occasionally lift (including overhead) up to 15 lbs.

WORK HOUR & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

•4 days a week 7PM EST to 6AM EST.

•Work beyond regular business hours and rotational holiday coverage, as needed.

PAY RATE:
  • $67,000 - $70,000 Annually
