Penske Logistics is seeking a proven leader with relevant experience and skills to join our team of transportation and logistics professionals. We are seeking a candidate to supervise drivers at one of our locations.
The Operations Supervisor provides direction at a single location, leading staff to ensure customer requirements are achieved while meeting our Penske goals and objectives.
**Position Summary:**
Provide operational leadership to individual contributors and hourly workforce to ensure the execution of daily tasks and activities including driver deliveries, loading/unloading of trailers, and customer service operations in a manner consistent with company services and cost objectives. Supervises most processes directly including people, systems, customer needs, equipment, etc. workforce and equipment scheduling. Responsible for performance management of direct reports. making corrective action and disciplinary decisions up to written warning level. Involved in the hiring process and customer meetings as necessary.
**Schedule:** Monday - Friday (occasional Saturdays) / **Hours** : 1:30PM - 10:30PM (until the last truck is in)
**Salary:** $64,000 - $70,000 Position is bonus eligible up to 12% of the base salary
**Experience:** transportation management background, strong communicator, goal oriented, detail oriented, demonstrated leadership skills. Supporting 50+ CDL drivers

People
- Establish and sustain that all supervisors and associates are trained and competent and understand how their work relates to the customers' business objectives
- Establish and sustain that performance standards are communicated that are specific and measurable
- Interview hourly associates and provide recommendations for hire
- Monitor attendance, productivity, and other performance standards and provide coaching and counseling to associates
- Motivate and engage associates by focusing on team accomplishments and recognition
Operations
- Supervise logistics operations including customer service, freight loading and unloading, dispatch and proper documentation and procedure control
- Conduct team meetings
- Evaluate and recommend changes in preferred work methods to increase productivity of dispatch operations. Assist in new associate training
- Provide relief coverage for operational duties when associates utilize time-off or are absent from the shift
- Have a thorough working knowledge of the site's operating systems in order to ensure operational compliance and correct exception resolution
- Complete all necessary records and reports in a timely and accurate fashion
Finance
- Ensure compliance with financial policies & procedures such as tracking MPG, returns, damages, etc.
- Understand the relationship between decision-making and profitability
- Closely manage associates' working hours and activities to minimize overtime and to meet or exceed productivity targets
Safety
- Ensure day-to-day management and associate activities are aligned with the location safety strategy
- Provide associates with communication, training, feedback, and direction to ensure safe performance
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory agencies and company policies and procedures
- Conduct safety observations
Growth / Customer Experience
- Understand the location-specific customer goals & objectives and work to meet and exceed these expectations daily
- Ensure the customer knows that we are committed to helping them meet their objectives
- Determine areas that could benefit from Continuous Improvement efforts
Fleet/Assets
- Properly plan work assignments to ensure effective use of fleet equipment
- Work with hourly associates to ensure they understand safe and efficient operation of equipment
- Work with vendors to ensure equipment is maintained
- Work with Penske Truck Leasing to ensure schedule of preventative maintenance is complete
- Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor
**Job Qualifications:**
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with strong interpersonal skills and have the ability to connect, build rapport and maintain solid relationships with associates, Company leadership, internal and external customers. ¬
- Must have ability to work efficiently and independently with strong time management and organizational skills
- Strong written/oral communication skills and the ability to actively listen are required
- Ability to manage through a problem, think critically, and make decisions independently
- Ability to drive process improvement and lead change
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint required
- Must demonstrate ownership & responsibility to run the operation with a sense of urgency
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor's Degree preferred

Job Description
This position is contingent on contract award.
Soldier Medical Devices (SMD), Force Integration Division (FID), provides medical materiel support to all Army components facilitating optimal healthcare and worldwide medical readiness through; the procurement, assembly, and distribution of medical equipment and Medical Materiel Sets, Kits, Outfits (SKOs), the disassembly of previously fielded medical materiel and equipment, the management of excess medical materiel, the provision of disposition instructions, the management of on-hand medical materiel inventory, and the provision of technical assistance for medical materiel sustainment operations including training on Army automated logistics systems.
The Logistics II Materiel Fielding personal will ensure the efficient and effective planning, coordination, and execution of material fielding operations, facilitating the timely delivery and integration of equipment and supplies to support troop readiness and operational missions. This role involves analyzing logistics data, optimizing supply chain processes, and collaborating with multiple stakeholders to enhance operational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support to PEOS, PM SMD Fielding Missions.
- Plan data and reports for specific tasks.
- Execute all fielding missions in compliance with regulatory guidance.
- Responsible for execution of post fielding mission requirements.
- Provide monthly and quarterly status reports that include work planned, completed, and analysis on fielding's.
- Utilize Army Automation Systems to upload data, and conduct required data entry prior to, during, and at the completion of Fielding Missions.
- Execute Pre-Fielding Mission Requirements.
- Prepare Pre-Fielding Analysis Report that identifies the full arrangement of authorized materiel requirements and expected shortages for the fielding mission.
- Prepare Requests for Information (RFI), Memorandums of Notification (MON) and Material Fielding Agreement (MFA).
- Provide team representatives for meetings, briefings, conferences, and site surveys required in the planning of fielding actions.
- Assist and/or provide technical guidance for the de-processing, staging, inventory, and hand-off of materiel to gaining units.
- Assist with unloading, organizing, and the movement of all materiel and equipment to appropriate fielding locations and within warehouses, which will require manual lifting.
- Execute on-site materiel fielding transfer requirements to include all applicable inventory and property transfer documentation.
- Confirm the receipt of end items, non-expendables, durables, expendables, and the support packages at the gaining installation.
- Inspect materiel for in-transit damage for on-site fielding and initiate discrepancy reporting procedures, as necessary.
- If there are equipment shortages, overages, packing discrepancies, wrong item or wrong/illegible/missing markings submit to the responsible COR, PEOS, PM or SMD.
- For damages identified as transportation related ensure the gaining unit secures the defective materiel until notification of appropriate disposition by the consignor when applicable.
- Provide the Unit Accountable Property Officer (APO) and Unit Supply Non-commissioned Officer (NCO) affected by the discrepancy with a copy of the customer documentation package, with issue, receipt and transfer documents for use by the affected APO and NCO to record and document receipt/transfer of equipment.
- Prepare and deliver a Materiel Fielding After Action Report (AAR) to the Government upon completion of each fielding mission.
- Travel nationally and internationally as the program requires.
- Completes required organizational compliance education, including assigned requirements that are client-specified, for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements/Certifications:
- Experience with Microsoft Office, to include MS Outlook, MS Project and MS Access.
- Experience with Theatre Enterprise-Wide Logistics System (TEWLS), LOGICOL System, Army Enterprise System Integrations Program (AESIP), Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-A), Lead Material Integrator Decision Support Tool (LMI-DST) and Medical Materiel Mobilization Planning Tool (M3PT) is desired.
- Prior experience as a field or Company Grade Medical Service Corps Officer with medical logistics experience, Senior Medical NCO E-7 and above with property book management experience is desired.
- Ability to multi-task effectively, prioritizes and execute against multiple priorities.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of databases and spreadsheets.
- Extensive fundamental knowledge of logistics and supply principles and supply chain management.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent data entry skills.
- Highschool diploma or equivalent.
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment, and outdoors with exposure to environmental heat, humidity, sunshine, rain, and wind.
- Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
- May require bending, stooping, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to safely negotiate flights of stairs.
- Ability to obtain required government security secret clearance.
- US citizen.

Additional Information
Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant's background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.
Compensation: Min: $65,000 Max: $75,000
